Not a surprise given how much they have released in 2013.

In Japan they have Animal Crossing: New Leaf and their Friends Collection game burning up the charts, while world wide they are getting a boost from Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2 and I don't remember but are they publishing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate in Europe and NA?

The way Nintendo has handled the first few months, them having more sales isn't a surprise. What is a surprise is that they had this period lined up for the 3DS without having something similar or close to it available for the Wii U given this lack of support for the new hardware is what hurt the 3DS out the gate as well.
