Forums - Sales - 3ds game adjustments

Thought i would post a couple of adjustments on 3ds games that i have noticed. Not seen anybody else mention them in other threads. Looks like fire emblem has been adjusted down 70k as its now back to 870k and assuming that the game databse is inclusive of the upcoming weeks numbers it looks like luigis mansion 2 has had an adjustment. Its around 60k higher but if this coming weeks number is included, probably around 120-150k then they have only added 60k from last weeks number. A bit dissapointed that two huge errors have not been adjusted, those being paper mario 500k undertracked and mario tennis 450k undertracked. Hopefully they will get changed soon seen as though those numbers have come from nintendo.

Obligatory re-posting of my 3DS tracking errors post:

Angry Birds 3DS undertracked:

According to NPD numbers yesterday it sold between 400k & 500k in the USA LTD.  We have it at 200k.  Undertracked by... a lot.

Mario & Sonic 3DS undertracked:

According to NPD numbers yesterday it sold between 200k & 300k in the USA LTD.  We have it at 126k.  Also pretty heavily undertracked.

Kingdom Hearts 3DS overtracked:

According to NPD numbers yesterday it sold between 300k & 400k in the USA LTD.  We have it at 500k.  Overtracked by at least 100k.

LEGO Star Wars 3DS overtracked:

According to NPD numbers yesterday it sold between 300k & 400k in the USA LTD.  We have it at 420k.  Overtracked by at least 20k.

Hopefully with the hardware adjusted, ioi will look at adjusting some of the software again too.

I agree with what you have said. But to me those adjustments still pale to the massive undertracking of paper mario and mario tennis. If they are going to make minor adjustments to fire emblem and luigi then surely we should get an update to these games.

man i really hope digital sale tracking becomes easier in the future.

It would be nice to see how 3DS and even PS Vita are doing in that regards.

No problem. If there are any other adjustments send me the link to the sales data and I'll pass it on to Brett.

While I've got your attention, and if you don't mind, I'll just post a couple more I've collected that I forgot about:

Luigi's Mansion 3DS overtracked:

According to NPD numbers for March it sold 365k up to April 6th.  We have it at 451k.  Overtracked by around 86k.

Fire Emblem 3DS overtracked:

According to NPD numbers for February it sold 117k up to March 2nd.  We have it at 163k.  Overtracked by around 46k.*

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3DS undertracked:

According to NPD numbers for March it sold 145k up to April 6th.  We have it at 131k.  undertracked by around 14k.

FIFA Vita tracking :

There are two FIFA games for Vita: FIFA Soccer and FIFA 13.  All the North American sales for the title have been added to the first version, even sales that FIFA 13 made.  Italo correctly spotted it 3 months ago yet FIFA 13 sales are still being added to FIFA Soccer.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus tracking:

According to NPD numbers for February it sold 3k.  We have it at 0k.  Track this game please, ioi!

Dead or Alive 5 Plus tracking:

Also completely untracked in North America, though we didn't get any numbers for it in March's NPD.

God of War: Ascension undertracked:

According to NPD numbers for March it sold 633k up to April 6th.  We have it at 584k.  Undertracked by around 49k.**

*Just to expand on the above point a little further, I think the Fire Emblem tracking in USA may need rethinking.  NPD has it at: 117k (February); 64k (March).  We have it at: 164k (February); 40k (March).  It's overtracked for one month and undertracked for another.

**I believe Gears of War: Judgment is also ~19k undertracked based on the figures in Boutros' OP, but I only took a quick glance so it might be worth double checking.

There's also the issue of European sales.  Barozi has been pretty vigilant collecting them, highlighted in posts like these, so you might want to speak to him personally about the matter to see if he's got a complete list of all the ones that are missing.

I'm not sure it's anything that can be easily fixed, but it's worth flagging up.

Again, thanks a lot!

Luigi and fire emblem have already been adjusted down. They have put this weeks numbers up for luigi and its only added 60k so they have knocked probably between 60-90k off. Plus fire emblem has had 70k knocked off.

But they haven't made any adjustments to those numbers you quoted.

We have an exact, concrete figure from NPD/Nintendo for Luigi for a certain period (launch to 6th of April).  That figure is 365k.  We have it at 451k.

Same deal with Fire Emblem.

I don't know what's going on with the rest of the numbers because I don't run the database here.  I'm just saying there's a tracking error which we can adjust.

Unless you're saying it's something to do with a cached version of the DB page which hasn't been updated yet.  In which case, I'll shut up once it has properly updated :P
