How is Forza a B-Tier game?
And how is Alan Wake a C-Tier game?

Both are AAA, and both are exceptional. Alan Wake was one of my favourite games this gen, and Forza is arguably the best racing franchise there is today.

Anyway, that aside, I do feel that MS has a lot to prove this coming gen. They need to deliver a lot more IPs, and they really have to diversify their 1st party catalogue so that their highest quality games aren't just shooters and racers.

Totaly agree both Alan Wake and Forza are triple AAA titles.  I especially like the whole Forza series.  On that note Remedy, Turn 10 and Playground Games are excellent developers.  As a matter of fact I liked Remedy before they made Alan Wake the first two Max Payne games are great.

I have a grudge with them because of the RROD, I will never forgive them for that.

Other than that I really don't care about them for the most part, Halo is cool but that's about it for me.

They started this generation extremely strong, with IP's that I am (still) genuinely interested in like Viva Pinata; Crackdown; Halo Wars etc. They seem to excessively trimmed their "B-tier" franchises to the point where there just aren't any releasing anymore. As a person whose favourite Sony franchises are all in this similar B-tier, it makes Microsoft a less compelling offer to me.

I'm also kind of saddened by their handling of certain studios. Bullfrog Productions is my favourite game developer of all time (only other team coming close would be Insomniac Games). Lionhead were their successors. For a few years, I could see the spirit of Bullfrog shining through in games like Black & White and The Movies. To see them become a Fable factory since this generation begun just breaks my heart. I don't dislike Fable games, but I feel like the team is capable of so much more. Sadly, I think the fragmented remains of what was left of Bullfrog in Lionhead have moved on to new teams, such as Media Molecule.

I'm actually less critical of their handling of Rare. In recent years, yes: I feel they are wasted on Kinect (although it's certainly the sales vehicle that they needed). In the earlier years of 360, however - between Kameo; Viva Pinata and a new Banjo Kazooie, I am happy that MS gave them a chance to make these games. They may not have been the successes that were needed, but at least they tried.

I was pretty sad when they shut Ensemble Studios down.

They've handled the Halo franchise very well.

All in all, far from my favourite, but I don't have any extreme loathing towards them either.

gears of war is from epic , why you mention it in the mgs, did they helped with the game?

They published it for Epic.

Microsoft Game Studios/ Microsoft Studios has been the publisher for all 4 Gears of War games.

Yeah this thread is pretty pointless because it akin of asking how do you like 20th Century Fox distribution Dreamworks Animation pictures.  Instead of asking how do you like the movies made by Dreamworks Animation or the studio itself.

They are not responsible for that.  Read what I said earlier they are only responsible for publishing games on the 360 made by other developers this thread is pretty pointless because its more or less like asking how do you like 20th Century Fox distributing Dreamworks Animation Pictures.

they strike me as a company who have no problems turning their backs on their prime audience if it means making mass amount of money some where else.

they dont have many IP's but the ones they do have are very quality. Xbox always has the best online infrestructure and western support.

They pretty much did nothing the credit should go to the developers that actually made the game.  That like giving 20th Century Fox credit for the success of The Croods even though they had nothing to do with it they are just lucky enough to distribute all Dreamworks Animation movies for the next five years.

You should've said this about 2 weeks ago when Carl started doing these threads.

But okay.  I'll keep posting my thoughts, but thanks for the heads up!

Read what I said earlier this thread is pretty much pointless Microsoft (Game) Studios is just a publisher all the love or hate should go to the developers that actually made the game published by them.

They may not were responsible for "creating" the RROD, but it was their job to test the system and make sure the consoles were ready for shipping. Or you tell me MS wasn't aware of the RROD before the consoles launch? If that's the case then that shows they are a company with A LOT of management problems, something strange considering how much money they have on the pocket.
