Will either of them reach 80 million before one or other launches their nexgen console and pretty much makes this gen a dead duck oin terms of PS3 vs 360? figuring an October / November launch that would require an averge of about 130K per week from here on. That would be a stretch for PS3 and highly unlikely for 360 without some major price cuts (for both consoles) soonish.
Kinda an anti-climax to have the gap su suddenly and dramatically narrowed down to almost nothing. I was really enmjoying watching the lead be slowly eaten away and wondering if it would be gone before one of them launches their next console. Now it's like, meh, it's inevitable so no longer very interesting.
A generation oin which all the console makers can be pretty happy with themselves. Yes, Sony the least happy, but still happy. Unfortunately Nintendo has gone into the next generation stubbing its toe, but Sony and Microsoft can approach their impending launches with optimism.
I didn't catch up with the last estimate of PS3 LTD shipments after the March Q. But I assume that because Sony carries a bit more stock in the retail channels (partly because they sell in more markets) it means PS3 LTD shipments are already ahead of 360?
