If the PS3 could survive its poor launch the Wii U can survive its poor launch. That's simple.

The only funeral around these parts is the death of logic or unbiased reporting.

Nintendo isn't Sony. Their platform isn't going to have amazing 3rd party support.

All of Sony's platforms have been successful in terms of both sales and large game libraries.
The same can't be said about Nintendo. Wii U could be another Gamecube or Nintendo 64.

Yeah... Nintendo is not sucessfull as Sony......with the obvious exception that Wii currently sold 25 million more than PS3 and Ds more than doubled PSP sales. I´m not even mentioning 3Ds sales x Vita sales

It would be better if you just say " I hate Nintendo", instead of using pointless arguments

I never said Nintendo wasn't as successful as Sony. I said Nintendo ISN'T Sony. Sony is stronger than Nintendo when it comes to consoles. I don't even know why you're mentioning handhelds. There's not much competition there, even from Sony.

Sony's worst selling console is going to sell upwards of 80m. That should really put things into pespective.

It must be the funeral of the WiiU owners brain since the WiiU is not dead lol.

3DS. Nintendo platform. Poor launch. Survival. Recovery.

Handheld =/= Console

Nintendo is dominant in the dedicated handheld space, not so much in the console space.

If you think the Wii U "recovery" will go just like the 3DS, you're wrong.

Nintendo handhelds and consoles work the same fundamental way; first party software drives hardware. 3D Land and Kart 7 ignited 3DS, so too will Kart U, Smash Bros, and 3D Mario ignite Wii U.

As long as Nintendo stays in the hardware and home console business as exclusive platforms for their first party IPs, it's a victory of sorts. Presumably they're still generating profits while staying in the game.

But it is a little crazy for any platform to have developed such an advantage immediately following its release, only to lose it just as quickly after a sprint to the half way point.

As for the Wii U, there are a lot of major releases everyone has come to expect on Nintendo platforms to boost hardware sales, but at this point, it really is looking like the Wii U will be more like the GC in terms of sales and market relevance.

But Nintendo always does their own thing whether their hardware sells 100m units or 25m units.
