Forums - Gaming Discussion - Pachter: Wii 2 (w/ HD) May come in a few years, PS3 to catch Wii in 2011

I'm not gonna wait 4 years for the current 3rd place holder lol. Its sad that's we are even having this convoy, Ninty had to kill the Wii quickly for PS3 to still take 4 years to match it. While you are waiting for PS3 I'll watch WiiU build its lead on PS4, hopefully Sony can sell another 100 million plats and make money this time.

Lol ethomaz so it will be at 103 in 2017 while the Wii will be there by like 2015? 7 million for next fiscal year was very optimistic from me. That's the absolute best it could do. I personally think 6, 4, 2 are more likely, giving it 99 million by March 2017.

Using your own biased numbers...

FY2013: ~87m (Sony forecast)
FY2014: ~93m
FY2015: ~97m
FY2016: 99m
FY2017: ?

99m as of end of March, 2016.

Are you making confusion with fiscal years?

Lol ethomaz no it won't and its pretty sad hearing how long its gonna take. You pretty much just admitted it will take the PS3 10 years to do what the Wii did in 5 lol. That's pathetic.

Pathetic or not PS3 will end the best selling console this generation...

the only reason why i see that happening is cause by the time the PS3 catches up to the Wii it will be long dead

Are your numbers not biased in the opposite direction?

That's like saying you won a 100km marathon because you went 101km, despite finishing 5 years after everyone else went home.

Well Wii is almost dead... Nintendo shipped 3.98m Wiis this FY... Nintendo forecast for FY2014 is only 2 million.

I think I'm being conservative... my real prediction is better than what I posted in this thread.

It is 110-115m at the FY2017: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=150842

No it is like to say in a 10 years marathon the winner ran more than the others.

Anyway when you check in 2020 or late what console finish this generation in first place you will see the PS3 and not Wii.

So --

FY2013: 101.84m
FY2014: 103.44m
FY2015: 105.04m
FY2016: 106.64m

Still ahead of your own prediction of 105m for PS3 by March 2017. I used the same rate of decline as you.

Same rate? You know after the 2 million the drop became huge... 1m... 500k... less than that... you are hoding 2m almost three years in a row lol.

Anyway that don't matter because PS3 will probably end first... I don't know why people seem to be surpised by that now with the actual sales numbers.
