WOW really??

It sold pretty well for 54 points then... I think =P

edit: 180k... damn it sold really well in the US, more than JP

~ 67k FW, not an abnormal points conversion really.

Good legs, though.

I'm only two episodes into the ALfheim arc and I already hate it.  I can see why they're sticking with Aincrad for the game.

No offense to you guys who like SoA but I really thought it was average at best.  It's not even a new concept.  I didn't make it half-way through.  There are so many better anime out there, in my opinion.

Still, I suppose it does lend itself well to the idea of having a game based around it.  Just hope it's a good game this time.

It's a shame that anime/manga based games are rarely good.  I look at something like Fairy Tail or Akame ga KILL and it seems like they're almost begging to be transformed into an awesome game.

I rate this post average at best.  I didn't even make it half-way through.  There are so many better posts out there.

To be honest, I enjoyed the first arc very much - I felt there were some pacing issues and they should've made a full season in Aincrad, rather than just 14 episodes - but on the whole I quite connected to the world and the characters.

I'm not enjoying this second arc as much.  Not at all.

I suspect some of it might have to do with not having seen any of the anime it's imitating, though.  Never did get into .hack.

Anyways, regarding the game, the fact it's based on the part of the series I actually liked makes it more appealing to me.  Just like I would've gotten excited about Infinity Moment now, if it were not already a known quantity of rubbishness.

And yes, like you say, it does lend itself well to being a game, unlike some of the other conversions I've seen.

Yeah the second part of the first season is kind of average but I liked the last couple of episodes and it does suggest an interesting future.
Although I heard some details about season 2 and I'm really confused.

Well it was written in 2002, but when is any concept ever truly new

Don't worry, it only gets worse! Just wait until the forced AIDS drama (it's way later in the novels, not an anime spoiler), I wish I was joking.

Aincrad was the only good part, and that's why the game is exciting.

I'm not trying to say it's bad, more that I'm surprised that it's so popular.  I wonder if it's because it has high romance potential.

The topic of being stuck in a game makes me want to watch the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon again.

Is it Yokai or Youkai? VGC thinks one and Media Create thinks the other.

It's Yōkai in Japanese. That accent on the 'o' means that the pronunciation is followed by 'u' and that it's followed by the hiragana symbol 'u' when written in Japanese. So it's neither but Youkai is closer I guess.

Well, is actually pronounced with a double o... the same with the EI diptongo, by example: Sensei is pronounced with a double E at the end.
