I personally don't like the iOS game. I don't really get how it could become so popular.
Then again I don't really understand how Candy Crush can become so popular when games like that have been around for really long.

Am I the only person on this site who has actually played PAD? I've played a few iOS games (can't claim to have played 0.001% since there are so many), and I consider it one of the better ones I've sampled. A few of my other friends have played it, two of them lost interest and one of them likes it more than me and can't wait for PADZ to be localized.
I am not pretending to be happy for PADZ because I'm a Nintendo fan. The game looks better than the iOS version, which is saying something, because I rather like the iOS game, though it doesn't exactly blow me away. I am genuinely interested in PADZ. And I promise I'm not going to stop playing Monster Hunter when it comes out.

Lack of awareness maybe?
Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

But how did Candy Crush stand out?
I mean Bejeweled was really popular when it came out.
That was a while ago though and I guess there's a new generation that hasn't played Bejeweled.
But there are still hundreds and hundreds of those kind of games :/
Mobile gaming is very much hit or miss.
PDZ Should sell a minimum of 400k FW!
Dragon Quest VII - 722pt (836,654)
Animal Crossing New Leaf - 655pt (721,786)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland - 650pt (488,508)
Tomodachi Collection New Life - 503pt (411,025)

Yeah I agree, it must be a combination of generational change, word of mouth, availability and who knows what more

Probably social intergration as well. I think it started as a Facebook game.
If at least you could move tiles as others are falling (like in Zoo Keeper).
That's my favorite feature of tile-matching games.
Does anyone remember what Kingdom Hearts HD ended at? And if you do should we expect more or less fro FFX/X-2? I know that FFX was more popular but I don't know if 120pts for the PS3 version or ~179 combine is good or not.

I won't say I'm happy, and I do find anoying the whole 'goooo' thing since Luigi's Mansion. However, I do think it's good that they are developing that game for the 3DS. Some people might believe that dedicated gaming devices are inmune and that everyone see the difference in value between a $50 game, and a free game with micro-transactions, but I think the situation is not that good.
Look, 3DS is down YOY, and it's very unlikely that the situation will change. This year 3DS had Pokemon and MH4, and even that wasn't enough. If 3DS keeps being relevant with traditional franchises and with games that come from cellphones, I'm ok with it.
It's better that they did develop the game for a dedicated gaming device and not only release a sequel for cellphones. Well, at least that's my opinion.
