I'm more showing how awesome DQ11 ps4 is doing rather then compare it to anything on the Amazon chart. I reference splatoon because we know it's doing big numbers so it shows how well DQ is doing.

I hope ARMS doesn't deter Nintendo, especially in Japan. Hands on impressions have been positive and those who have played the testpunches appeared to have liked it. But for some reason, in Japan at least, it hasn't quite taken off like we would hope. Maybe it's the fighting game genre in general for Japan (outside of Smash of course) or what not. It's a game developed by the Mario Kart team so I had little doubt of what they could do. Hopefully it'll gain some legs post release, especially as content updates roll around for the game. As for Splatoon 2, it continues to amaze me. Seeing it on a new console and outclass DQXI on PS4 (not combined with the 3DS) shows Nintendo's presence in Japan is as strong as ever and it'll be a vital series for years to come. For the original to outshine FFXV, which was mostly considered a PS4 game in Japan, and for the sequel to be where it's at against DQ, which maybe a bigger franchise in Japan than FF nowadays, is nothing short of amazing. |
Maybe it turns out that ARMS is just not a game that people preorder but still buy eventually. But yeah, it appears word of mouth will be super important, and hopefully it can still be a sleeper hit, whether it's in Japan or in general.
On the week Splatoon 2 comes out, it'll sell however many units Nintendo ships in that week in Japan. So for all I know it could be 300k or 120k. It's up to them.

And whether or not Nintendo will be able to get enough priority in the assembly lines and get the parts needed to manufacture enough units, based on the reports from the Wall Street Journal.
the first three are beasting;)
5 Switch system skus in the top 17, that's crazy.
Also Arms in number 5 behind the heavy hitters there so It's not all bad for Arms
