MarioParty is still a very big franchise, its just on wiiu^ MP is one of the best selling franchises in japan. (not saying at the very top btw)

It only sold like 200k in Japan without the bundle.  It's not that big anymore.

There is a couple of things wrong with your reply

1. We aren't talking about If MP is as big as it was before or once was. We are discussing if its a big franchise or not in japan. (of course i could be reading your comment wrong but i posted this just in case)

2. "Only" 200k is kinda harsh no? There aren't even many games that hit 100k/150k marks let alone 200k in japan. 200k is Huge no matter how you spin it.

3. There was no bundle for the last MP in japan, and if there was it wouldn't even be more than 20k-25k of its total sales.

4. MP sold over 450k in japan, so it even makes my 2nd point look even more better.

5. Its big, even if WiiU MP only sells 100k lifetime there, and most of it will be from legs (i guess 50k op)

I wouldn't call it huge and irrelevant is too harsh.  I'd say it's just decent.  We'll see how this launch goes before passing final judgement.

The series is a shadow of its former sell.  I think that's a fair assessment.

No home console MP game has sold less than 450k in Japan. Just putting that out there. Even the GCN additions (all 4 of them) sold fairly well. It may not do all that well FW, but it'll have good legs.

The series may be a shadow of its former self in terms of gameplay, but not when we're talking about sales.

Without bundles I just don't see it doing that Well.

Based on what logic though? Wii Party U sold 200k without bundles and that series is nowhere close to the caliber of Mario Party. I think the only MP game that's ever been bundled was Mario Party 7 for the GameCube, and they had to find some way to sell it because it was the fourth entry on that platform.

Based on my gut instinct.  Can you guys not just accept my prediction and move on?  No need to interrogate me. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong

Well alright then. I mean, believe me, I'm not trying to say that this game is guaranteed to be some huge success in Japan, because at this point it's hard to predict any home console game's sales over there, but I do think it'll at least do decently.

We dont need to see how launch goes, i was never saying MP10 will be doing incredible well. We were originally talking about if MP as a franchise is big or not. During this gen, 1 game has sold over 450k, and most likely be 550k-600k lifetime which is already amoung the best selling games in japan this gen.

Even with a chance of the wiiu version (MP10) failing with lets say 40k lifetime, Mario Party is still a huge franchise there. Just Now only on HH or simply being a wiiu game didn't help out.

Edit: We know its a shadow of its former self, but we were discussing weither or not MP is a big franchise.

That battle video better push xcx into the charts eventually
