Ouch for Smash ... I guess that 3DS version really is cutting in the sales potential of the console release.

This is one of the most overrated statements i ever heard for any nintendo game. Unfortunately it doesn't matter if the wiiu version sells 4mil WW or 8mil WW, we'll still be hearing this :-/

Smash will gets its time in the couple weeks before launch I'm sure. It's going to be a big success and I don;t think 3DS will really eat into sales.

This is a hard one to tell because the 3DS version exists. I think it will do moderately well in the short term, but then climb to close to what Brawl did in the long run as a portion of the 3DS Smash owners capitulate and get the superior Wii U version. Think of Smash 4 3DS as an "advertisment" or "demo" for the Wii U version.

Its not the fact of how much it sells, no matter how much it sells people will still say the exact same thing you have^

I mean lets say the game sells what? 700k-800k in japan (for wiiu). Does that mean if the 3ds version wasnt made the WiiU version would of sold 2mil+? 1.5mil+?

Im just tired of hearing "hurt the wiiu version" or worse "3ds version should have never existed". Its been like this for well over a year now.

The statement you made was because 2 people cancelled their pre orders.... 2 People in japan. Excluding COMG (12-15 stores) i heard SSBU been having a good headstart. ITS 40+ days away, can we wait on before jumping on the bandwagon? 

Close to BRAWL ? That's stretching it when the WII U's userbase is just barely above that game's lifetime sales in terms of units ... 

Those portion of 3DS Smash owners you speak of are those "hardcore" Smash fans who are the extreme minorities that will partake in the double dipping.

What your saying doesn't make sense for the most part since a lot of consumers often don't purchase the same software twice ...

It is a fact of how much it sells ... It's pretty clear that 3DS Smash is hurting Smash U.

@Bold Maybe the WII U version would have sold 1.5 mil+ if the 3DS version didn't exist or was released at a later date. The games are the most important aspect of a platform and making a game available for another platform gives no differentiation for the said platform the game was formerly exclusive to.
