Its not 1mil locked. Not saying it wont cuz im hoping it gets there FW (major accomplishment). Also he's obviously talking about the mainline gens, not third installments, but it definitely can compete with them. How much did they do anyway?

Edit: Thats asking for alot, Pokemon BW2 opened with 1.5mil+ but with the other installments it might/will surpass them.

Pokemon Yellow FW: 1.35mil Life: 3.12mil

Pokemon Crstal FW: 319k Life 1.20mil

Pokemon Emerald FW: 747k Life: 2.05mil

Pokemon Platinum FW: 963k - Life: 2.69mil

Pokemon BW2 FW: 1.5mil Life 3.10mil

I have a feeling YW2 is going to pull a pokemon Gold/Silver in terms of sales, but with maybe up to 2.5mil-3mil sales lifetime.

B/W2 is definitely a main Pokemon and it did 1.5 million FW.

I completely disagree. Platinum is Diamond/Pearl 1.5 whereas B/W2 is an entirely new game and a full sequel. Platinum, Emerald, Yellow, are just their predecessors + additional content like how Capcom does Monster Hunter G.

BW2 was not an entirely new game, If anything the remakes were much more different than BW2 to the originals. Itw mch closer to the Third Installments despite being the first sequels. Its has the exact same pokemon and added older ones, no new pokemon, most of the same gym leaders, just a couple added locations, etc.

Its definitely not a mainline game. If anything it would be in its own category, but if it had to be in 1 it obviously would be wth the third installments. Mainline games are new generations, BW2 was not a new generation. It had by far the most differences in third installments (being a sequel) but that doesn't make it go with Pokemon New gen pairs :)

Edit: Actually these arguments bring me back deja vu. If anything Pokemon BW2 is in its own group. Definitely not a mainline game and its much closer to that of Third Installments, but its not the same. So we have Mainline Gen Pairs + Remakes + Third Installments + BW2 (which i guess would be same gen sequel? lol)
