Hmm... EA vs Assault Weapons Companies

That's a tough one...

I'm actually going to have to give it to EA here. At least they're acknowledging the fact that a problem exists. (Or just sidestepping but....)

Less guns in games is needed one way or another anyhow.

Why? There is no evidence linking guns in games to real life gun violence.

I don't get your point.

I see it more as EA stepping away from realism with guns so they're less of a target for negative press than anything else. Self preservation is more their style. Having said that, I didn't read the article.

This whole transaction might smell a little better if EA would go the whole 9 yards and stop using real gun brands in their games.

Who cares about name brands of guns anyway? Do I cake if Nathan Drake (not an EA game I know) is using an AK47 or a made up gun called an APK 457? No, as long as it shoots the face of bad guys and nastie beasties I'm good.

I much prefer the made up guns that don't even exist and defy the laws of physics anyway.

No evidence that suggets the opposite either.

Either way the current use of guns in videogames has to be fixed a bit. That can be anything from this or reducing the anount of shooters made

That's not how it works. You have to prove it before it's true. Innocent until proven guilty.

Shooters are popular, therefore they get made. If you don't like shooters then don't buy them. It really is that simple.

Either way EA's just doing this to skip out on license fees. They could care less about what shooters do or do not do.

Good. I can play shooters safe in the knowledge that I will never harm others as a result of playing said games.
