how does the country (in-general) perceive gay/lesbian people?

It is not well percieved here.

But there are gay and lesbians here.

And the country seems to be more accepting about gay and lesbians as the years go by.

I believe Jamaicans will eventually accept it as the norm in a couple of years.

Is it a safe place to raise a family? Can you own a gun?

Did you guys just ratify some amendment to become part of the U.S recently? If so, how does it feel to be the 51st state?

I don't think that is what happened.

Jamaica has always had close ties with the U.S. and as time goes on those ties will get closer and closer.

Alot of American Culture is here such a music, we play hip hop here alot and so on.

Dance hall is still king here though.

How does it feel to not know the difference between Jamaica and Puerto Rico?

What do Jamaicans think of their president?

Jamaica is relatively safe. It's just like any other country in the world, certain communities have more crime than others.

I am not sure if you can legally own a gun. You can do your research on that.

Not many people here have guns. If I would guess maybe around 15 to 20 percent of the population have a gun in their possession and that percentage maybe less.

and People here don't bother you unless you bother them, no one here goes on a random killing spree, it is always targeted to a specific person or group.

Irie neighbor ... Well I have no questions about Jamaica since I grew up in the region.

Which part do you live? Anywhere near Kingston? I have not been there in a while, but like the other Caribbean islands it is a beautiful place.

Anyway ... I'm a 'southie'

I passed your Fucking American Citizenship test! So that is all that matters.

@ Jega

Sorry, guess that was Puerto Rico.  I just remember it being mentioned here, since I get my news from Yahoo, and vgchartz.

Do you have alot of hurricans?

We get hurricans every year but they are usually pretty mild category one or two.

Every decade we usually get more severe ones but jamaica has always recovered. Thanks to God.
