Regarding primary application:

As of November, 2012, Line had more than 74 million users worldwide and was used in over 230 countries.
As of January 18, 2013, Line had reached 100 million users worldwide and reportedly was gaining about 400,000 users daily.
As of 2 May 2013, Line had reached 150 million users worldwide.

Incase you can't do the math, thats a growth of 76 million users in the space of 6 months, which is actually 422,000 new users every single day, With a blackberry and Nokia Asha version released recently, and a version of non-systematic OS's in the near future that numbers only going to climb even higher over the next 6 months - Marketing for the application, it's games and characters is becoming explosive with stores carrying merchandise of the characters and live events, as well as series of television shorts.

Naver are forcasting the userbase to reach 400m users by the end of forth quarter 2013.

Amount of users and active users is different. Run along and find that for me. You'll sleep better after you prove your point.

Each registration is tied to an active cellular number, only one account can be made per active cellular number, inactive accounts are culled after a set period, run along and get a clue.

When it comes to free shit, I'm not surprised to see bloated numbers.

Go figure that out and quit getting so angry. It just makes you more adorable.

No, I don't feel the PC directly competes with consoles in a significant way, not like a console war. Also, I still perceive games that are on PS3 and Vita as exclusive. Because Xbox isn't directly competing with Vita.

I mentioned Mass Effect 2 to remind that person it was an exclusive for a period of time. Not just with the original. You're taking it out of context.

MS doesn't need the Japanese crowd, the western audience is clearly more valuable. Sony doesn't care about the Japanese crowd and would rather have a bigger western following. Look how few games Sony releases intended to appeal to Japanese audiences. While they release tons of games for western audiences.

You don't consider PC releases significant because it breaks the 'exclusive' claims, frankly if you move context and say "this car color is EXCLUSIVE to america!", when the car can be bought in other countries in the same damn color, just with a different engine size, it doesn't matter what differences the car itself has, the color is the same - it doesn't matter if a PC isn't a console, the game is the same, thus it's not exclusive to 360 alone, just as the original gears of war, and Halo 1 and 2 aren't.

MS doesn't need the japanese crowd? what you mean to say is MS can't penitrate the japanese market because they lack the type of games and services japanese players prefer.. Sony doesn't care about the japanese crowd? are you freaking serious?, no, really?, Do you want me to walk into a games store tomorrow and give you a nice picture of the size of their PS3, PSP and Vita sections compared to whats available to the US and Europe?.

If you genuinely think MS don't give a crap about the japanese market, and genuinely think Sony doesn't cater to it's Japanese customers, You're clearly on the wrong 'support forums'.

But let me just mirror a post earlier with this..

Paragraph one is a bunch of bullshit. I made my point and moving on...

Japanese 3rd parties make games Japanese consumers want. Sony is primarily just focused on appealing to the west.

Instead of responding with pictures, why not just admit I'm right? Sony has made a much bigger effort to appeal to Western audiences than Japanese audiences. What Japanese company makes more games intened for western audiences?

Paragraph one you can't defend against because your argument is fatally flawed, Sony publish and develop many games that do not see a release outside of Japan, but your heads too firmly in the dirt to understand this basic fact, But i digress, feel free to fly out here and see it for yourself, first hand, in stores across the country.

Oh i used pictures? does that make the text that went along with them dissapear?, Sony Computer Entertainment America focus on America, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, focus on Europe, that's basic logic, nobody is denying that, but you're essentialy assuming Sony is just one big entity that decides 'screw out native country were making games for murrica now! yeehawww", it's like you do not comprehend that Sony has a seperate division for each region, and each region receive their own set of games, So what exactly do you want me to admit?, that you're right about what?, assuming that the world revolves around america?

You're just commenting on the games you know about, you haven't heard about, or seen these japanese first particle titles for the very reason i'm pointing out, theyre japanese only, thus all the media outlets you read arent going to cover them, but what could that possibly mean? could it possibly mean that you're blowing smoke out of your backside about Sony not catering to japan? i think so.

1. Okay, just show me some of these games so I can see how hard Sony is working to appeal to Japanese audiences. Sony gives the west mega Triple A games. They do the same for their Japanese games?

2. Mmmmhmmm... Sony clearly cares more about the west period. But lets move on.

3. Show me these games. I want to see how hard Sony works to appeal to the Japanese audience. I expect some amazing stuff.

I will say it again, 2 new IP's that "could" be big. One was suppose to be a 360 Kinect game, and well how has every "big" Kinect game faired?

They "could" also be crap, like Ninty Nine Nights.

2 New ips that were mentioned in this thread. That doesnt mean that is all they will have though. MS did not create so many first party studios and buy others in the last few years to make just 2 new IPs. It is unreasonable to think like that. They will have more, and some will be kinect games while others will be traditional games.

That also doesn't mean that they won't stay exclusive. Look what happened to most of 360's early "exclusives" like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Lost Planet, and Star Ocean. Heck even Mass Effect, which was published by Microsoft, lost exclusive status after 1 game.

It's not unreasonable to think that 720 won't have many new exclusive IP's because 360 also promised a lot of exclusive IP's and very few were produced. Buying/Making a lot of new studios means nothing, look what happened after they bought Rare, they got 1 good game, and it was a remake (Conker: Live and Reloaded).

Serious question: Do you know what 1st party means?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Okay, I'm looking this app up. These numbers you're posting appears to be for a social app. You lead me to believe this was some sort of gaming service.

So why are you even talking about this app? What are you trying to prove?

Yes let's pretend white knight chronicles, tourne, Doko Demo Issyo, Gomibako, Qruton, Everyones Golf, Siren, Dark Mist, Eye of judgement, Cocoreccho, Ghost in the shell, Blade dancer, Jewel Summoner, Evangelion, Yukiwara no hana, やるドラ ポ, ポポロクロイス物語 ピエトロ王子の冒険 and so on never existed or weren't developed for the japanese market originally, right?

Just because you may not have heard of them, or they haven't sold in the numbers 'rest of world (including japan)' titles sell doesn't mean they haven't done well, when theyre specific to japanese only market in most cases, to think otherwise is just silly.

But i'm curious, what makes a AAA game, a AAA game to you?, sales or quality?

Tachikoma said:

Secondly, people bring up like 4 exclusive japanese/asian xbox 360 games, If you want me to walk into a store over here in Japan and take a picture of all the PS3 games you never even knew existed, we're talking 100+ here, that are exclusive to PS3, I will gladly do so.

Oh, try then. I could surprise you with the huge amount of japanese-exclusive 360 games. =P I think you ignore the amount of 360 games that are out there, hidden in the Eastern market.

100+? I don't think it reach that number, but I can get up to +50. ^^

At first I was like, "Wow, that's a good number of games." Then I realized you're including games from other generations. Some weren't targeted towards Japanese audiences. Some of those weren't even developed by Sony.

I'm not sure what to tell you. This doesn't change my feelings that Sony clearly put more effort appealing to western audiences, especially since the launch of the PS3. Its no wonder why, look how much better their western games sell compared to their Japanese efforts. Sony kinda gave up on Japan and let 3rd parties to do the hard work.

IMO, AAA is is a big budget, high quality product that has the potential for big sales. At least that's what I anticipate when I hear a title boasted as AAA.
