Wii U get Nintendos Next Gen console at this price?

I am Miyamoto hear me ROA... 38 29.46%

I already have a PS3/360 ... 27 20.93%

No i'm saving up for a P... 46 35.66%

Waiting for an official price drop. 18 13.95%

Total:129

So now the Wii U has dropped down to £149/199 do you think your willing to put the money down and finally get the Wii U? Or is this retailers showing they have no faith in the console and getting rid of stock before it becomes dead in the water?

For comparison the RRP for both consoles is £249.99 and £299.99.

Is this the end for Wii U or does it just need some quality software to go with a price drop, ala 3DS?

EDIT: Amazon have just price matched the £149.99 Wii U Basic.

Edit 2: Play.com also have the Wii U Basic for £149.99.

Edit 3: 149.99/199.99 on base.com

Clearly this is more than just one retailer  clearing  stock. It is bank holiday weekend.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

If I had money to spare I would jump in for that price, as the investment will eventually be worth it.

The problem Nintendo have, is that without any first party content, the system won't sell. It's going to be late June before that begins to change, regardless of measures like this.

I will be saving up for the PS4 and therefore don't need a Wii U. The PS3 is good enough for me for now.

Does any place in the states have a price drop like that?

That's a huge drop for the short time it's been out, but it is not an official one.

It's a big drop but I doubt it'll do much. The game library is too lackluster atm for a price drop to change anything.

i'll be saving for a PS4

But i have always bought an Nintendo console when a new pokemon arrives so who knows,

We'll see what E3 brings :P

A single store dropping price =/= official price change.

Now, if Nintendo were to advertise some games and make it this price (or around it) officially, expect to see them flying off the shelves. As it is, probably just a loss leader promotion.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

To be fair this is just an ASDA promotion, nobody else has it.

But it not a good sign that is for sure.

True but just like the Vita it hasn never been near RRP.

Previous best price was £179.86 for Basic and £235.94.  It has come down significantly since lauch from quite a few reatilers. Although not at the same time.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

I would've picked one up if it wasn't for the fact I jus Spent £100 on 16Gb of ram for my Macbook :(
