Kind of an unfair comparison like they said. How is this representative of the real world when almost no one freshly installs windows on a macbook?

And looking at the prices...it's kind of expected to see Mac laptops high on the list.

I think any one who installs windows in a mac does so with a fresh installed version since it doesn't come preloaded to my knowledge.  A lot of people seem to dual boot. at least in gaming forums since windows is better for games than macs. I would hope that this info would make manufucters install less bloated windows, but I doubt it.

Dual-boots seem the most popular option for those who want Windows on their Macs, but that might slow it down compared to the complete wipe+fresh install.

I dont see how it would slow it down. maybe just a tiny bit on boot depending on how the dual boot works. but after that there should be no difference.

Around the Network

You get a lot of graphical performance issues. Because the video card is underclocked (because of the xtreme heat) in the mac books pro.   So the problem is evident in Windows/bootcamp, when you run a heavy graphics app you end up with a black screen, or with a frozen PC.   And if you update the drivers the problems will get even worst. My brother has one and installed it windows and it is a mess, we cant do almost nothing with it.    And when you take it too apple costumer service, they say "it is all fine". We cant even run Firefox! At least Chrome is not having graphical performance issues. When we play SC2 we can play it for 10 mins, and then boom! the screen goes black, and the laptop goes to sleep mode. It happends with almost everything.

A lot of people have the same problem as we, so, in other words if you want to use windows for games and other heavy stuff, just buy a Vaio or any other laptop that it is not from apple.

Mac environment works good, but when in Windows all goes to shit.

That's kind of stupid. And the $2,200 model is only 6th despite the favorable conditions? Kind of shows how meaningless this exercise actually is.

no point in commenting if you are going to read the opening post. its not just about speed, but stability too. If you have problems with the metrics they use why not comment on that.

Not suprised, apple makes great hardware. It is at a premium though compared to the other laptops.

Yeah, I read the opening post.  What do you think I was commenting on, chicken soup recipes?  When did I say it was just about speed?  What are you even talking about?  I'm saying that it's pretty meaningless to compare clean installs to those choked with bloatware.  What is the point?

Not much of a surprise. (Clean download, high HW standards, and high perf. standards. Also high price.)

Why would you want to download Windows on your perfectly amazing OS X, though? That is the real question. :P
