Forums - Politics - I am from a Lutheran Church, we believe Catholics are going to Hell- Sorry .... a simple question.

Also, if you are Christian - any Christian - you should believe that no group, even non-Christian goups, are doomed to hell. You should believe that any good person will have eternal life. If you don't, read the good Summaritan story..

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

You have to accept Jesus to go to heaven, that is what the Bible says. The Good Samaritan is in hell.

And as long as you have accepted Jesus, you can be forgiven for anything you've done in your life, so some Christians who have done lots of evil are in Heaven.

You have been told this you entire life? Really?

In the Apostles Creed we say “I believe in the holy catholic church”

That is Lutheran.

Though whether you believe its catholic (lower case meaning the "entire christian church") or Christian Church (same thing).

I grew up in a Lutheran Church/environment (my mother is Lutheran and my father is Jewish) and we never went down that path you did.

Well put it this way if you have ever hated Someone or something then guess what ?
you are not a good christian.
Listen you free to believe whatever you want but that doesn't make it right. And also a quick history lesson, The Lutheran Church was founded by a Catholic :P

Clearly you have no understanding of Christian belief.

God's action requires the approval of man. This in turn is closely linked to the respect for human freedom and free will. God does not save anyone by force, gives you the freedom to choose. Judgment Day will assess every person according to the actions of good deeds not empty words. No evil Christians in Heaven confirmed. Dont worry the God is not stupid and blind.

I see no problem in Saint Mary and her immaculate conception. I mean, that's even possible for us to do nowadays xD Let alone for God!

Sermons in Latin are actually awesome and there is a growing need for them nowadays, as people are much more mobile. It would sure be easier for me to participate in a Latin mass, than a Chinese or Finnish one. After all, every educated person should know the basics of Latin.

Do you really think that Catholic transusbstantiation is that much different from Lutheran consubstantiation? Cause to me it's the same thing. The difference is that Catholics believe that bread and wine remain the body and blood of Christ after the mass finishes, while Lutherans think they turn back to pure bread and wine and have to be turned into body and blood of Christ once more. Wow! Huge difference - Catholics are so absurd! Surely going to hell for such ridiculous beliefs, but you guys are safe ;)

Catholicism rules cause it's the OG Christian church and not a bunch of whiny separatist ;) Plus it had John Paul II, who was pure awesomeness and really embodied what a spiritual leader should be like.

Apparently you don't have an understanding of Christian belief.

here is the good samaritan story http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+10%3A25-37&version=NIV

NIV isn't the best version but whatever,

anways, please tell me, where in the bible does it say you have to do "good works" to get into heaven, because it certainly doesn't say so in the versus i just linked you.

Something...Something...Games...Something

You guys do realize that the Catholic Religion was the first Christian religion as it is the oldest Christian religion over 2000 years old and they are the ones who compiled the bible (put it together) they also have most of the original books in the bible since they compiled it... they also created the college system! thanks to them we still follow that same university/college system.. and as a catholic, i don't claim to say who is going to hell like my lutheran brother here as i am not GOD! and have no right to judge others but my Lutheran brother here feels like he is above catholics and is throwing the first rock at catholics!

Nah, since God is all-knowing he will know exactly why these people made each and every decision that they made throughout their lives and be perfectly able to see everything from their point of view - Knowing that he would have made the same decisions in their exact situations and with their limited knowledge and wisdom.

If God is just, no one is going to hell.

if only this was patially true :(

Revelation 20:12-15

12 And I saw the dead -

large and small -

standing before the throne,

and the books were opened.

And another book was opened,

which is the book of life.

And the dead were judged from what is written in the books,

according to their deeds.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;

and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:

and were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.

This is the second death - the lake of fire.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life,

was cast into the lake of fire.
