Forums - Microsoft - Next Xbox Reveal Set For May 21

I can see this reveal being a lot like the 360 reveal event on MTV. Not very many games, more of a focus on PR blabbery, show off the console, show some footage, maybe one game is highlighted and played live, close with a performance by some pop artist who is currently popular. Save the real meat of the console for E3. I doubt we'll even get any word on this used games, always-online stuff until E3.

I'm excited to see what's revealed....but why is it at 10am?!

May 21st is a Tuesday, most of the US is going to be at work (I am). I would think that a latest showing (like the PS4) would have been better.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

too late because ps4 literally has had all the mind share and hype in the past 2-3 months...people have already decided *ps4 next gen for sure*...and the longer they wait the bigger they are gonna have to present. all in all tho i think they shoulda just waited for e3 because its where all the eyes are gonna be anyways

hahaha, the only people who have already decided they want the PS4 are mainly fanboys who had no intention of buying a Nextbox no matter how good it is.

Oh right. Only the fanboys... So... I already decided I will buy a PS4. So I'm a fanboy who doesn't have any intention of buying a NeXBox? Really? That's really how you see it?

I mean, it's not like I'm waiting for May 21 to decide if I will ALSO get the NeXBox...

And judging by the way you post here, you're really not in the right position to make such comments.

No, its mainly fanboys who've said they will only buy a PS4. Its kinda silly  to say that considering we still know nothing about the Nextbox.

And what do you mean about the "way I comment here"? I've never been biased, and still don't know which console I will buy, but I don't go around saying "I'm not buying a Nextbox and I'm only buying a PS4" cause then clearly, I would be biased.

What would it be too late for, though? Sony hasn't even shown us the PS4 console, itself. May 21 gets the ball rollin', leaving E3 to finish the job.

i know i mean why is ms even trying anymore just pack it in and focus on next next gen they clearly lost the battle of premature reveal events that barely anyone knows about still even months later

Dozens of millions = barely anyone

Purely anecdotal on my part but just as factual as "dozens of millions". Talking average gamers, not people like us on the Internet. None of my gaming friends had a clue there was a PS4 reveal event until I asked them about it, and they are all huge PS3 guys.  Most of them still have not seen a thing about it. The same will be true for the Xbox. All that matters will be E3, because it is the event that will be huge in the media and it's the one everyone knows about. So to act as if either of these reveal events are any sort of big deal in terms of how it will affect this generation is just lulz to me.

I've talked to a lot of casual gamers in my classes and they usually only play 2K basketball on Xbox yet they all heard about PS4 and most are pretty stoked.

Warden of Platformers

Yeah that 2k14 PS4 footage was amazing. I can see why they are stoked.

Can't wait, gonna get it no matter what. I know for a fact Microsoft will do more this gen to secure some major exclusives while creating more In house. I plan on owning all three systems just so I don't miss out like I did for a good part of the current gen. Never again.
