What would it be too late for, though? Sony hasn't even shown us the PS4 console, itself. May 21 gets the ball rollin', leaving E3 to finish the job.

too late because ps4 literally has had all the mind share and hype in the past 2-3 months...people have already decided *ps4 next gen for sure*...and the longer they wait the bigger they are gonna have to present. all in all tho i think they shoulda just waited for e3 because its where all the eyes are gonna be anyways

i know i mean why is ms even trying anymore just pack it in and focus on next next gen they clearly lost the battle of premature reveal events that barely anyone knows about still even months later

Dozens of millions = barely anyone

Purely anecdotal on my part but just as factual as "dozens of millions". Talking average gamers, not people like us on the Internet. None of my gaming friends had a clue there was a PS4 reveal event until I asked them about it, and they are all huge PS3 guys. Most of them still have not seen a thing about it. The same will be true for the Xbox. All that matters will be E3, because it is the event that will be huge in the media and it's the one everyone knows about. So to act as if either of these reveal events are any sort of big deal in terms of how it will affect this generation is just lulz to me.

I've talked to a lot of casual gamers in my classes and they usually only play 2K basketball on Xbox yet they all heard about PS4 and most are pretty stoked.
