Forums - Gaming - Raymond: Splinter Cell popularity held back by its complexity

what I gathered from this interview with Jade Raymond is that the exemplary multiplayer portion of Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory will not be making it's triumphant return with Blacklist as I've been hoping it would. For anyone else who'd been wishing the same, the writing's there on the wall with her comment; "still one of the more complex and difficult games to play"
What amazes me is this; with all the focus that Ubi has concentrated towards figuring out why Splinter Cell is no longer as popular as they think it should be, they obviously haven't connected with the simple truth that dumbing the gameplay down only helped the series to slide backwards.... and here she goes saying it's still too complex.

That and Sam Fischer is a boring, generic character. He's only a hired hand and is just about as charismatic as the main character from hitman.

I'm glad they are giving you options to play in two different styles. None the less I prefer to be weaker than the enemy so I'll be playing this in perfectionist mode.
