Spotted on a Korean Ratings Board last week, Konami has confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is releasing on the PlayStation 3 this June in North and South America.

We’ve contacted Konami to find out the price and whether or not it would be available on the PlayStation Network Day 1, but while you wait, here’s everything you get within The Legacy Collection:

 

Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD Edition

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD Edition (which includes the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)

Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition

Two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels

 

Speaking about the Collection, Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami, said the following:

We wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console. With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.

It was also announced that the Metal Gear franchise has sold more than 33 million units to date.

Is this even an accomplishment? Why not just wait till 35 million or even 40 million? Was there an article celebrating it's 30 millionth sale?

That is like posting something saying Donkey kong series has sold 12.8 million copies since it was started 50 years ago. Not really a big deal.

According to VGChartz, Donkey Kong is at over 62 million, and over 68 million if you include Diddy Kong Racing.

Revengeance didn't have the Solid name... so no.

Then again Mario has 100's of games so there is a lot of misses in their too ;)

Here is the thing.  There is no need for that kind of comment.  Yes Mario is bigger than Metal Gear and I doubt if anybody will argue with that but then again 33 million is also a big number and very few series will ever reach this number.  it would have been better for you to just say congratz or not say anything at all instead of making a comment that was not needed.
