Forums - Gaming - Former Witcher Producer Making Next-Gen RPG

So I saw this on ign and thought it looked pretty interesting. Here are some good segments. Anyways it sounds good, but I'll have to wait to learn more about it though. I'm not really familiar with deck 13 either. So what are your thoughts?

"The executive producer of the first two Witcher games is developing a new RPG for PC and next-gen consoles that he claims is a mix of Dark Souls and Borderlands."

"most of the development is being done by German studio Deck 13, which has been working on the game for two years already."

"I would say Dark Souls, I would say Borderlands in terms of the experience of developing your character."

"It's a challenging game, action RPG, which means a lot of advanced combat," Gop explained. "When you walk through a location, and you have to fight 10 enemies, that takes around an hour."

Here are the platforms

"Gop confirmed that the game was in development for PC, PS4 and Microsoft's unannounced next Xbox,"

Comparing every enemy encounter to a fight in Mortal Kombat or Tekken is... interesting. I wonder how that will work out.

Not interested 'til there is gameplay. Also, while Dark Souls obviously is a masterpiece that transcends words, Borderlands in my opinion was a bad game.

Endless air juggles (Tekken) and finish it with a Fatality (MK)!

I didn't like the setting, art style and humor, which is more a matter of personal taste rather than objective criticism.

But also, the quests were simple and boring, the story presentation weak and not engaging. Core gameplay was average or even weak (combat). Leveling/xp-ing was not addictive. Generic, randomly generated weapons which killed the fun of looting. And always the same enemies that kept spawning repeatedly at the exact same spot, I got so pissed about that.

I enjoyed the art and humor, but ya thats taste though. As for quest, I agree that they were simple, but for me the char made up for it. Ya combat was around average. Most of the time I was just finding new guns which I thought had a nice variety. Though they were reused alot with slightly diff parts so I see where you are coming from. As for the spawning thing, it never really bothereed me.

So any other thoughts?
