Forums - Gaming - Most rage-inducing moments in your gaming life?

I have a few actually.
Ninja Gaiden on Xbox - hardest difficulty setting.

The last boss in Shinobi on PS2 was a pain as well.

The greater fiends (especially Alexei and Zedonius) in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 were REALLY rage worthy boss fights on the Master Ninja setting.

Contra Shattered Soldier on PS2 ... Probably the only game I hurled my controller for and wanted to kill somebody over (the creators).

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

There have been plenty in the past. Maybe the most rage inducing moment was playing gt3 A-spec. I was doing a race on Tokyo R246 with mandatory tire wear but no pit stops available. Every time I was in the lead my tires started wearing out, then on the last lap the brain dead AI apparently with no degrading tires simply bumped me out of the way in the corners every time. It was the final straw, I took the disc out of the ps2 and smashed it.

Funny, I just posted this:

100%ed GT3 with a DualShock2. So yeah, that was the game that gave me the most frustration probably.  Especially THIS motherfucker:

A decade later I still remember the suffering. I lost weight with all the sweating, I swear.

I remember that track. At least there is no AI in the way :)
GT4's Nurburgring Nordschleife trial was rage inducing too, 1 wheel off the track and fail. I could probably do it in 1 go now, I've driven Nurburgring so many times in GT5 I can easily draw every corner and bump. Favorite track now.

Pokemon Pinball on Gameboy Color. That game is filled with pure liquid rage. It's frustrating enough that even the best pinball game of your life has to inevitably end with the final ball out that you really had no way of preventing, but when you've spent an hour finding an Abra, successfully catching it, evolving it into a Kadabra and you're just about to evolve it into an Alakazam when the ball goes down?

No game has ever gotten to me like that one. Ever.

Assassin's Creed 3: Me, "Get off the ledge you stupid fucker!!!" Plus, various sections were ridiculously broken.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge: Cut up a lowly foot soldier. Said soldier grabs you with no way of you breaking out and kamikaze explodes, taking a 3rd of my health. Said soldier's friend decides to do the same thing, taking another 3rd of my health.

GT5: Getting gold on all license tests with just a controller. EDIT: TRYING to get gold on all license tests in GT5 with just a controller. I'm currently stuck on IB-5.

Various RPGs: Getting back into them after a year or two if neglect and not remembering what I'm supposed to do next (Wild Arms 3).

Mortal Kombat: Shao Kahn's cheap ass.

I know a friend that has all gold on gt5 licenses using just controller. He is a perfectionist when it comes to getting gold on license tests.

Nice. One day I'll achieve it. I actually don't even like doing stuff like this in games, but for some reason, I'll know that GT5 beat me if I don't get all gold.

Also, I'll add Sonic Spinball to my rage list. Fuck that game.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

The only time I ever considered throwing my controller was one time when I got 1-shot by Elizabeth in Persona 4 Arena score attack using Akihiko. The only reason it happened was because I misjudged the spacing on my combo starter and the second hit whiffed. Almost an hours worth of work down the drain.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Ninja Gaiden NES stage 6-2,

Losing at the final boss and being reset to 6-1.  You feel hope die in that moment.

I haven't even been able to get past 6-2 and if I did I'd probably die on the boss.

I never managed to reach #1 ranking on the first Amped. Super frustrating last couple of challenges.

Virtua Tennis enraged me at times.

Super Ghouls N Ghosts. Once upon a time I could make it to the final boss, but never beat the game. I tried it again a few months ago and I just don't have the patience I once did.

I seem to recall getting to Jafar on Aladdin (MegaDrive), but not being able to beat the game.

Fighting Teemo in league of legends - nothing makes me rage more

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.
