That's just the thing though, they're not pushing out great games. There is no 1st party title announced for Xbox 360 this year. NONE. ZIP. NADA.

Do I need to mention the cycle they've put themselves in? Gears, Forza, Halo, repeat.

They have a new console coming out this year. Sony might be rebounding in 2013 from an abysmal 2012 year of games, but MS is not. However, even with that said, in 2013 MS is bringing up games like Crimson Dragon, Lococycle, Ascend, Gears Judgement, Motocross Madness, State of Decay, and Super Time Force. Plus who knows what they will show at E3.

You Sony guys act as if this is some new strategy for MS. They have relied on little retail "AAA" games and a lot of awesome XBLA content this entire generation. The difference between Sony and MS seems to be that Sony doesn't mind investing money making a title available at retail even if it won't sell, and MS would rather put the lower return titles on XBLA. You wouldn't see a Smash Bros clone or Mario Kart clone by MS at retail, it would be on XBLA. Sony opted to put theirs at retail and relied entirely on them in 2012.

As a gamer all I care about is playing good games. No console has been void of them lately for me. But why am I saying this to you? You don't even own a 360. How would you know how good these games are.

Do you own a PS3? I don't see how this is relevant to the discussion. Dont call me a "Sony guy", I find it offensive. Don't bunch me up with other peo'le and certainly don't take my opinions as opinions of the entire "Sony" fanbase. Do it again and I'll have to report you.

You make a great point though. Games like PSABR ad LBP Karing shouldn't have released at retail, certainly not at $60. Sony made a big mistake with their 2012 lineup, it was rather weak. Nothing wrong with trying to push new IP though. You gotta try new stuff and you gotta try to push new IP.

Of course I own a PS3. Enjoy using it, too. Unlike some here, I don't spend time bickering about products I don't even own or use. And I don't care if you find it insulting.

Sony did make a mistake with their weak 2012 lineup. But I don't remember tons of posts about how Sony is losing touch with gamers and not focusing on games.

That's because they were still focusing on games. New IP are always risky. They didn't pay off for Sony in 2012. I'm sure they've learned their lesson.

And MS is still focusing on games as well, as evidenced by all the studios they have acquired and all the next gen stuff they are doing. And they already learned the lesson Sony learned last year, which is why their new IP's in 2013 are XBLA games.

I'm glad I could help you understand this, it should end your nonsense about how they aren't focused on games and what not.

Are people really happy with these franchises? Forza isn't what it used to be, and the newest Gears saw huge declines.

As to what MS devs are working on, you just answered your own question.

Yes they are happy. As someone who actually owns an Xbox 360 and plays it quite regularly, I see people playing Forza and Gears games quite a bit. Spinoffs. Mainline games. Doesnt really matter.

The last mainline Forza to release will sell more than 4 Million, it released ~1.5 Years ago. Forza Horizon, the spinoff, will sell over 1.5 Million.

The last mainline Gears to release will sell more than 6 Million, it released ~1.5 Years ago. Judgment, the spinoff, has already sold over a Million in less than a Month.

MS devs are working on games. Thats what we know. Theyre working on existing IPs and new IPs. Microsoft have opened up new studios and strengthened existing studios. To say theyre losing focus on videogames is silly. They arent losing focus, theyre just adding new ideas to the Xbox brand. They want Xbox to be the main media center in the home and the ideas theyre having are good ideas. From ordering pizza so you can eat it while you game/watch a movie, to expanding the apps or even maybe getting TV Shows exclusive to the platform.

Xbox isnt just about gaming, and its a strategy thats quite clearly worked with the public. Xbox 360 will sell over 80 Million units.

New IPs didnt pay off for Sony in 2012. They sure learned their lesson.

I'm hoping to see some of these games at their May 21st event. Are these XBLA games 1st party though? I've never heard of them.
