I have the Galaxy S3 and it's the best phone I've ever had.

The series in samsung somewhat confuses me. I thought samsung main phones were the galaxy s series and the galaxy note, but apparently there are others like the one you named too.

I have a Nokia 920 but I prefer my older n900 as it can do things the new one can't

they are basically mid ranged smartphones that use the galaxy name for marketing. i didnt get it because it was a "galaxy" but because at the time the specs were good for the price. oh boy do i regret my choice now, i wish i went with HTC or Sony. and thats what i will be doing later on honestly

Do you see yourself switching to a smartphone eventually? |
Yeah, probably by the end of the year. Smartphones have come to a point that they can be a good substitute for notebook computers for the basic stuff like document viewing and editing, and web browsing. Also, they have additional features like GPS (really useful) and camera.
I'll probably pick something Android based, but nothing too expensive. I'll spend USD$300 at most.

$300 should get you most phones if you have a two year contract with it. Even if you don't, it shouldn't be to much of a probelm since their are tons of older/last years model and price drop.

Samsung Galaxy S2, but I'm not too happy with it. I rarely use it to anything else than what I could have been doing with a normal phone.

You mentioned before that you didn't get the galaxy s series due to price/expensive, do you not enter into two year contracts?
