I thought almost the exact same thing but I think the HDDs will be 500gb and 1tb respectively.  I don't see how they could downgrade from the top of the line PS3 when downloads are only going to get bigger (I already am over 250gb and I only got + 7 or 8 months ago).

You are right about the Harddrive space.  They would't downgrade it.

I can't think Sony will price PS4 over $450 this time.

The hell? Sony can perfectly take a $100 loss per unit and its probably what they'll take with PS4. In fact Sony's loss with PS2 was above $100 with PS2 launch too.

Its not gonna be comparable to PS3 which was $600 and Sony still made around $300 loss on each unit.

1.No they can't. Maybe when they were riding on the back of the dominant PS1, but they sure can't take that big of a loss now. They don't have the financial strength to do so.

2.And completely wiped out the profits of 10 years of PS1 and PS2 dominance.

They will and can. Sony's consoles have always been loss leaders, look up what it means. They make up for it with software and psn sales.

hard to think it would be under $400 more like $450/500,surely the first adopters would pay this and sony need the money to be right,not sure why companies wouldn't take advantage of their early adopter fanbase

one can only assume they'll have different price points if they want everyone to buy early

anyway sounds like a £450 machine over here i'll be wanting some free ps plus and some movie rentals if they want my cash straight away

Great... if even the Americans are thinking $450.00, us Aussies are sure to eat an extra $200 kangaroo tax.

I'm seeing $600.00 - $800.00 launch price.

No its not, you claimed they lost everything, they didn't. Don't talk about things you don't know. You can look up their FY2011 and soon FY2012.
