Forums - Gaming - What is bigger- Zelda or Fable

I'm going to channel the spirit of Khuutra, and in lieu of burning your face off with a death glare as he would have, explain that Zelda, historically, has gone through zeniths and nadirs of popularity. Skyward Sword is simply a downswing game, but there will also be future upswing games, whereas Fable is pretty clearly going in one direction.

I wouldn't even say those nadiers are even due to the games themselves.  If you look at the data, it turns out the magic formula goes something like:

First Zelda game on system = Great sales

Second Zelda game on system = Not as great sales

It has been that way since the series started.  Skyward Sword was just in the unfortunate position of being the second Zelda on the Wii.

1. It's not good for either, given the sales history for each franchise. All I did was compare the latest games in the series, so lately, Fable is in the basement while Zelda is comparatively healthy. Why we're having this discussion is beyond me, becuase that initial comparison is 100% factual.

2. That would be pointless, because the games in question don't share all the same problems.

3. Perhaps, but based on what I've played and the impressions of many who've also played it solo, it's just not the same.

4. The GC/GBA link cables, one for each player.

5. Do I even need to bring up how poorly The Journey sold? The fact that you're holding onto this one million thing which, by the way, you took out of contect to begin with, tells me that you're desperately grabbing for any troll logic to keep you in the argument.

1) Why one zelda sold under 1m and next Zelda over 6m? Why sales number for Fable: Journey - end of the franchise and in Zelda case it is wrong?
2) So, again, bold statements, nothing more. Ok.
3) So you are basically saying - you was wrong. Ok.
4) Cable - extraneous accessories. HDMI cable - extraneous accessories. Despite in doesn't even necessary to play a game unlike Kinect. Ok.
5) "took out of contect " - it is not Zelda game? Why so poor sales for Zelda game and why this is so different from Fable: Journey case?

Oh boy. if you think a 2d zelda will be sold as much on a Handheld as a 3D Zelda on a home console in the fucking 3D era there is no hope for you anymore.

So, you are basically saying it is ok to Zelda games fail hard at sales - because they had such big number of excuses, but Fable - it is whole another case?

P.S.

Z:FSA - Handheld. Lold.

Change your avatar pick, you know nothing about Zelda games.

Cause the under one million sellers were Four Sword Adventures on GC and Zelda 1 on GBA. Twilight Princess launched after these two titles and is the second best selling Zelda Game. So yeah, it wasn't dead after that. You would think this is common sense, but yeah....

There exists no common sense in these arguments... Don't bother; logic doesn't exist in these arguments.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Fable is much better than Zelda, but Zelda has been around for longer. Last iteration of the series says that Fable is bigger but I guess time will tell.

Better is very very subjective. I'm playing Fable right now, and have played the sequel before; I'd say it's a 7-7.5/10 series... It's great fun but it's definitely not as good as a Zelda game.

One thing that (possibly) isn't subjective is the controls though... The controls of Fable (1&2) is clunky and has sabotaged a lot for me... The only time this happened with Zelda was with SS for me; but those were great controls in other aspects.

But hey! To each their own, right? =)

So, why then sales of Fable: Journey all of the sudden - really bad for franchise and killed him?

Re-read your post, you are doesn't specify it is Zelda 1 from NES. And i'm can not read minds of random peoples on internet.
