I wish them the best of luck. PSASBR is extremely underrated and one of the best fighting games in recent years. I've bought all of the DLC to show my support even though Sony Santa Monica has taken over control.

Developer forced to "substantially" downsize following its split withSony in February.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale developer SuperBot Entertainment is working on new IP following its split from Sony.

 

 

While no details of the new game were given, the studio confirmed it has "substantially" downsized following a joint statement with Sony in February saying the working relationship between the two companies ended on amiable terms.

"We have substantially shrunk down our operations but are still going strong while we work on a new IP,” said SuperBot director of operations David Yangin an interview with Edge.

A previous source had said to Edge that the studio was in the process of being closed.

The Californian developer was formed in 2009, and so far has only worked on last year's PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

"SuperBot Entertainment will continue working on projects that reflect our passion for games and our commitment to creating award winning titles. We are very excited about beginning the next chapter of our future and invite all of our fans and supporters to follow our journey," said Yang in February

It was an okay game, but the Playstation crowd doesn't really wanted one. I mean it was a Nintendo rip-off, even if it had gameplay differencies. They tried it, and I wouldn't say they failed, but certainly didn't sell well. 640k is okay, it probably will reach 1m in a year or two. I was suprised Sony didn't supported Superbot and the next game, I mean, I don't think that team was so expensive. Maybe the 3rd party characters cost too much.

Besides the pre-launch hype, I've heard nothing of that fighting game. Did it flop to people's expectations or was it good?


Game was good..sales weren't. And it would absolutely shock me if you didn't know this already


I knew sales weren't, but I was referring to game itself.

I knew sales weren't, but I was referring to game itself.

The game is fairly good and has a small but dedicated community. Santa Monica made the recent DLC and it's being successful so hopefully they keep making more.
