Get Lucky sounds very vanilla, I'm not impressed. I hope they have some good songs on the rest of the album.

I agree, not liking the focus on the vocals either.

I like it, but then again I'm a only one of a few people on this site that where alive when disco first was popular and "Get Lucky" has a very strong disco vibe.  Also I sure that the long version (CD) will sound better.

Oh don't get me wrong, I loooove disco. I guess I don't really feel it because it sounds too familiar for being Daft Punk's latest song. Definitely not writing off the whole album though, I'm still excited.

I believe that they wouldn't use their best card on a purely marketing strategy most likely suggested by the label, and not by them.

That's assuming a lot of stuff, but hey if I have to believe in something, it would be in Daft Punk.

Been listening to this all day.

You didn't like Angles? Or are you talking about a solo work?

Im a secret in the clost new fan to the strokes. I like his collaborations with other ppl and his solo album more than his strokes work.

Got curious, and checked his solo work, it's not bad, and I realised I have already listened to a couple of songs, may have assumed they were from The Strokes.

I found Angles to be a really good album, and the strokes ...well they have history, and they are good. I'm looking forward to see what he will do with Daft Punk.

Also there is nothing wrong with being vanilla because vanilla stuff usually gets the sales and the awards in the music industry.  Skyfall by  Adell is a perfect example its a very vanilla song and not even close to being the best Bond song of all time yet it was the first Bond song to win a Oscar and a Golden Globe the best three original songs from a movie last year which where all on the Django Unchained soundtrack didn't even get nominated.
