Aside from the Ps3/Ps2 shipment number, just about everything else is poor,

Underlying financials are still bad even after rationalisation and improving yen situation. Tv's make big losses still (is that nine straight years now?), and mobiles are a money sink at the moment.

Needs to dramatically improve.

Not great, but it is a profit.

It's poor.

Just using your own words back when the estimated profit was $400m

Well played, Pezuz.

+1 HA!

Does anyone actually have any information on how much the sales of the 2 buildings contributed to profitability?

Not great but it is a profit = it's poor.

Try harder fellas. Or better yet stay out of these types of threads with your poor understanding of the topic at hand where you never offer an opinion but just snipe at others.

Telling.

its better than what they have been doing, yes its not great, but i wouldnt call it poor either compare to years before, they are on the "long road" to recover, nobody here it trying except you

don't tell me what thread i can or can't enter

Like Kowen said, its poor. I'll also add, its pathetic.

458 million profit is due to the building sales right?

Dude, you realise that Sony spent way more in acquisitions, right?

Which doesn't affect profits by even one cent.  You do know that right?  Actually, I know you don't know that.  I've read your comments in this thread and its clear you don't understand the difference between a balance sheet and a P&L.

The money spent on buying things is just an asset swap. The profit raised from selling buildings however IS profit for the P & L account.  Buying assets such as Gaikai doesn't reduce profits.

Dude.

Well, yeah. I'm not some bookeeper. So, in the link below, where does the building sales come in (is it in Others)?:

If so, how come they have the same revenue from Others this fiscal year as they did the last?

Yes its in others, as for why its similar to last years you would have to look through last years statement to find out.  I would guess they sold off some fabrication plants  that year, I vaguely remember hearing about something like that.

If profit is poor what the word used for loss?

Dude.

Thanks for clearing that up! I always knew this but so many people here make comments that make it seem as if aquisitions do affect the Profit and Loss account.

Also do all companies add the money raised from selling building and other assets to the profit and loss account?
