458 million profit is due to the building sales right?

Dude, you realise that Sony spent way more in acquisitions, right?

Even if they did, so?
Having all your profit based on the sale of a bulding rather then from the software/hardware is not good.
It's just that simple.

The money spent on buying things is just an asset swap. The profit raised from selling buildings however IS profit for the P & L account. Buying assets such as Gaikai doesn't reduce profits. Dude. |
Well, yeah. I'm not some bookeeper. So, in the link below, where does the building sales come in (is it in Others)?:

If so, how come they have the same revenue from Others this fiscal year as they did the last?

I dunno but if it's bad why has Sony's share price gone up by 63% since the beginning of the year?

How do those share compared to 2-3 years ago when they were in the deep red?

So, let me get this straight - it's not good but share prices have risen since last year nonetheless. Not sure if I would have thought that a YoY increase in share price means things are looking up. And I don't know about 2-3 years ago but somehow I doubt the share price rose YoY back then.
Aside from dust cloud, which in fact was sele of 2 HQ's, they were around 500 m $ under this year again.
that just seems pretty low for such a well known company,I guess it is,when you compare them to apple/microsoft. I'm no expert though.
