Before you say anything, this isn't a sales discussion. I know Halo 4 has sold 8m copies. From a sales perspective it is not a flop. But take a look at the latest Xbox Live activity chart. http://majornelson.com/2013/04/06/live-activity-for-week-of-april-1st/

Halo 4 has fallen behind Modern Warfare 3, which is a year older. So what happened? Is the online portion of the game just not that good? Too much of a Call of Duty influence? How would you rate Halo 4's online multiplayer?

How many times am I going to have to explain this list to people?

THIS LIST ISN'T THE MOST ACTIVE MULTIPLAYER GAMES. ITS THE GAMES BEING PLAYED MOST BY USERS SIGNED IN ONLINE.

Are you under the illusion Skyrim and Bioshock Infinite are top played multiplayer games?

Games like Gears Judgement and Bioshock Infinite nearly sold a million units yet more people are still playing Halo 4. Hence, Halo 4 is still more active than major releases that just came out.

This.

The 4 games ahead of it are Black Ops II, Minecraft, FIFA, and MW3. That's 2 other MP driven shooters which have each massively outsold Halo 4 on 360, and 2 SP/MP driven games that are very popular.

Thread is stupid.

Black Ops 2 sales - 11.90 million
Minecraft sales - 6 million+
FIFA 13 sales - 4.50 million
Modern Warfare 3 sales - 14.88 million
Halo 4 sales - 7.98 million

FIFA 13 didn't massively outsell Halo 4, in fact its the opposite. Halo 4 massively outsold Fifa 13. How come FIFA is 2 spots above Halo 4, a multiplayer driven shooter?

maybe because you play fifa all the time multiplayer and singleplayer but you don't play an ego-shooter campaign for hundreds of hours? it's really not that hard to understand how many hours people play a fifa game in singleplayer.

or ask yourself the question if fifa would have been in front of halo in 2009 if it would have sold 4.5 million units. if the answer is yes, nothing changed, just that fifa has the sales now but didn't have them in 2009.

but why do i even post in this thread, it's not as if it's a thread of kresnik or basil who would be just curious.

Doesn't matter if it isn't multiplayer-only, the list is dominated by multi-player games. Halo 4 has both single/multiplayer just like Call of Duty games, just like FIFA. No, I"m not under the illusion Biosock infinite and Skyrim are multiplayer games. Why would you even think that? Did I say that? No.

The title of this thread used to just ask if Halo 4 was a flop, I changed it to better reflect what this thread is about.

Bullshit, you're using a list of games being played online/offline to downplay Halo 4's multiplayer popularity. Find a list that just show multiplayer activity if you wanna have serious discussion.

All we know from this list is Halo 4 is still one of the most played games on the Xbox 360.

Do you even care about Halo 4 or have a 360? Why is a Sony fan initiating this conversation?

WTF? Chill. It doesn't matter who made the thread. I didn't release this activity chart Microsoft did. I'm sorry if it paints your holy Halo 4 in a bad light.

You trolling us right now with this question? So weird that you answered someone elses question regarding Bioshock by telling them it counts SP and MP and then ask how a game where people play tons of SP like FIFA outranks a MP driven Halo title.

I'm not familiar with FIFA titles. Never played one. So single-player driven FIFA is expected to be more popular than multiplayer-driven Halo? This is news to me. Especially weird since Fifa doesn't exactly require you to be signed in to play single player.(or am I wrong?) I think its safe to assume that the majority of titles on this chart are due to their multiplayer modes.

FIFA is very popular both online and offline. It's a sports title. Halo is a MP driven FPS. You're not going to find that many people still logging on months after release to keep playing the SP.

If you aren't signed into FIFA you wouldn't be able to save or anything so there wouldn't be much of a point.

I think you could make the case that half the titles on the list are just as popular if not more popular in SP than in MP. All the sports titles, Minecraft, Forza, GTA, Skyrim, AC3.

Once again, bullshit. You saw these numbers and decided to put a negative spin on them.
