Forums - Microsoft - Is Halo 4 multiplayer a flop?

man do people try hard to find negative stuff about other consoles or games not part of their gaming world. yes modern warefare 3 has more players but many cod players buy only one cod every second year. halo is not a huge flop, cod is just a massive success.

It seems people are getting tired of the franchise getting milked. I remember Halo 3 was in the top 3 for a very long time. It even got back on top a couple of weeks after MW3 was released.

Tired of "milking" and that's why they buy Cod that releases every year? Did give it any thought even for a second before you wrote this?

No. It's just that 90% of modern gamers prefer easy & stress free multiplayer. Halo is too complicated for them.

Times of multiplayer games that needed more skill are long gone.

Ahahahaha.. yeah, I think you have it the other way round lol. You can slack off so much in that game because of how accessible it is..

Regenerating shields - check, aim assist - check, little to no recoil on guns - check, overly powerful weapons/vehicles in the game - check. Feel free to add more.

lol what don't you understand about GETTING tired, meaning it's happening bit by bit!? The games sells less with each iteration.

And are you really comparing Halo to COD!? The two are not on the same level. Besides COD is one the only games that gets away with releasing every year and still putting out gigantic numbers.

What a PS3 gamer could know about skill, heh.

8m tired sales in 20 weeks.  If you aren't posting negative blogs on the next Xbox, which you seem to do almost every hour, you are in every other 360 thread downplaying.  It's getting boring.

Kowenicki don't talking about boring as boring defines every comment you make better. You claim to care about nothing, yet you're constantly here repeating yourself. Maybe, just maybe, you should read my other comment before you accuse me of downplaying anything. Just a thought!

i pretty much doubt what you said here but you can show us some xbox live activity charts proving it.

and people also seem to forget that cod only started to be big with mw which was the only much played cod for some time then, fifa was much smaller back then because it wasn't that good and minecraft is a worldwide phenomenon. but who cares about facts like that if we can post or hourly "i don't like xbox stuff" post.

btw, except for minecraft which is new and fifa which wasn't that big then

Well I used to play in a clan competitively on CSS. Kicked major ass in Unreal Tournament(s) and Q3 on PC. Plus I've played WoW for a few years, so yeah. I think i know something or two about competitive online gaming.

Halo 4, as with Halo Reach, has nothing to keep a player addicted. The armor and gun unlocks are boring and pointless. For me, I played hundreds of games in Halo 2 & 3 because they had skill ranks. Each game felt important because not only did I want to rank up, but I also didn't want my rank to go down. My heart would honestly start pumping during really close games. I would also get excited when I saw people ranked higher than me because I felt like I really wanted to beat them. 343i really needs to bring skilled ranks back. That would make me play Halo multiplayer again and I'm sure many other people would agree.
