No. IF the rumors are indeed true then all this bashing and arguing is justified.

MS official announcement will either quiet it down or serve as more fuel. Either way it ain't gonna stop nor do I want it do because maybe MS will hear the forums and shut the online part down.

What about the Vita/Ps4 bashing and the WiiU bashing?  1 or two threads is ok but we are seeing too many threads saying the same stuff over and over again by this point.

WiiU bashing is justified at this point because it sucks right now.No games mode. Panictendo. Canned games hoo-lah. Vita sales have been done to boredom but the sales still suck. Haven't seen much PS4 bashing except pricing issues.

But none of those are anti-consumer bullcrap that M$ wants to shove down people's throats if this stuff is true. And the more commotion we make the more they may want to change it. (I mean it made Capcom drop RE price, Bioware release free extended cut etc.) This is one of those situations where more noise gets us more notice.

Well there are quite a few of them. I mean, every day we see a "PS4 win will next generation" comment or thread . Now, I wouldn't mind this prediction if the Nextbox was already revealed and the PS4 looked like the superior machine, but since we know nothing about the Nextbox, its getting annoying seeing fanboys acting like this. 

Yeah, I agree, we will see Xbox fanboys who will be over confident as well after the Nextbox is revealed, and it will be VERY annoying cause nobody can even make predictions of the future. 

I haven't seen any like that, but maybe I don't go in the right threads.  I'm usually pretty picky about what threads I look through and post in.

That's a problem that I am concerned with and have PMed axum about (Thanks to him for hearing my request). There's too many discussions on the same topic(s) and there needs to be a policy to either 'lock' or 'merge' unnecessary threads when obviously it's already being discussed frequently by lots of people. It would just allow space for other threads to emerge and stop clogging up the place...

The only problem with this is it would require a fairly active moderator team to enforce. There should not be 20 Wii U/Vita HP critical threads with different OPs making different arguments/statements.

Besides, if I wanted to hear specific people's arguments, I kinda don't want to have to follow 10 threads with my replies in the VGChartz Buddy... it should fine that we only have a couple of threads on the Wii U health status.

I think if you or others think this might be a good idea, you should PM with your support. Maybe if enough of us say something, we can get a little clean up in here to help balance back the forums... the only problem is it would require so much effort on moderator team's part and I have no idea how active they all are.

I agree that people should stop acting like a firm is their identity but people are taking them as personal attacks from 1 of 2 things.  the creator of the thread is someone known to attack them in the 1st place and the other on is that most of the negative threads have been opinion pieces rather than anything that is actually factual.

I think shit opinions, that is, opinions backed up by shit logic or evidence are bad. I think shit threads are bad (threads that have no room for discussion, or are just fucking sad and disturbing). But I would LOVE to see more "hostile" threads that have some unique and interesting ideas back up by good logic.

 

I think people trying to stifle discourse are facists, especially the type that self victimize themselves and cry that they are being silenced while trying to silence others.

Right on. Let's not forget the millions of "negative" threads Jaywood has created himself. Lesson of today: Don't be a hypocrite.

Maybe Jaywood has turned over a new leaf.  Either way me and bananaking have awarded him with a shitstorm starter of the year badge.

I completely agree with this statement.  This is what needs to be done.  But you are right it would require a lot of work from the mods

I don't know if you've noticed, but grown ups debate and argue too.




Which number is the best?  Some will say 5 because it is the highes.  Others will say 1 because it is number 1.  Then some will say 3 because it is there favorite.  There is no right, there is no wrong.  In the end you will have an opinion and to say other peoples opinions are wrong is pointless because you cant prove them other wise.  This is the kind of arguments im talking about on vgchartz.
