Forums - Nintendo - Oh Wow, Amazon Really Hates Nintendo Consoles

Damn Nintendo really must be doing something bad for multinational companies to hate them so much

They should just restructure and hire some people with fresh ideas. I mean in today's world if you're not up to the standard, you just don't count as much.

there is a simple logic behind that, if amazon doesn't sell the stuff itself it makes sense they will tell you "consider this or that which is sold by us" which obviously is something 360 or playstation related then. at least that's how it looks without checking it out.

But then you still have the question, "Why doesn't Amazon sell Nintendo stuff?"

It probably isn't "hatred." Amazon is basically just like Wal-mart, so it's probably trying to get a lower wholesale price out of Nintendo than competing retailers and Nintendo won't give it to them.

i just wanted to explain why it's obvious that they do this when they don't sell nintendo consoles and that this is useless to talk about then. why they don't even sell nintendo consoles is another topic and i'm sure we had a thread about it or we should talk about this but not why they ask us to buy vita or 360 when we look at 3ds or wii u. they simply ask us to rather buy products sold by amazon instead of third party stuff where they only get some percent of it (which is still better for them as if you buy it anywhere else but much worse for the revenue)

I knew about this MONTHS ago. I think I even made a thread about it.

It's just Amazon promoting items that they actually sell though. Nothing to do with Nintendo hate.

So you think the website makes more Playstation Vitas sales then 3DS'?

Amazon has always skewed Sony... but it's never skewed THAT sony.  Third party provider or not, 3DS is definitly outseling vita.

Pretty much, besides it's not like you make much off software anyway.  That's early software sales are usually tied to how many consoles you order.

I hear it's because Nintendo stood up to Amazon and won't let them take over the online store for the Wii U. Nintendo is blameless, of course. It's all Amazon's fault and has nothing to do with Nintendo's policies or practices. Amazon probably entered into a secret pact with third-party publishers and developers involving blood magic and rice crispy treats.

Besides the rumor that Amazon was unhappy with the way Nintendo handled returned product, which was cutting into Amazon's margins, I've also heard that Amazon was very unhappy that Nintendo wasn't giving them the same price they gave Wal-mart. The latter wouldn't surprise me, as Wal-mart is notorious for demanding, and getting, better wholesale prices than anyone else.

Honestly, though, this probably hurts Nintendo more than Amazon. The margins on hardware are very slight.

blood magic and rice crispies still has me loling

Well.. that´s weird, specially considering that 3ds sells a lot more than the Vita. Some people may say that Amazon is just trying to convince people looking for nintendo products to also buy a Vita, but who knows ? The way it is, it just seems that Amazon is somewhat angry about selling/distributing Nintendo products but obviously doesn´t want to lose its sales.

They probably make more money on Vita since they are actually selling it themselves.
A 3DS or Wii U sale is done through a 3rd party which ends up with Amazon only taking a tiny portion of the profits.

Per unit?   Yeah.  However when it comes to actual end of the day profits.  3DS no doubt gives them more profit.  Hence why it's troubling to put up such adds and turn away the fanbase. (Well and not sell the system in the first place.

It really only hurts them.

Never bought anything through Amazon tbh....
