Forums - Nintendo - Our Lord&Savior Atlus Confirms - Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS) Coming to North America in Summer 2013!

It's far more than a normal port considering how much was added into the game. They could have easily tried and justified it. I just don't see the logic here from Atlus. They already have a tiny enough fanbase.

Because everyone knows that they can charge a premium on Nintendo platform. Just not anywhere near Apple, though.

Amazing news, i'm so glad they decided to release the game so early. I expected late 2014 for this game.

About the price, for some people may be an issue (especially for those who want to get on the series) for me is not so much of an issue since here any 3ds game is 70$ anyway :P

That being said, I hope this price thing does not hurt the sales of the game. SMT is niche here and the 3DS is not very popular in NA

EDIT: Also, look at this. So sexy

These comments do not make sense. If they're going to charge a premium in the US, they'll charge a premium everywhere else. So, expect a 25% price hike in other regions.

Oh yes, I should have explained myself on this. I usually buy online (ebay or another page that ships to Argentina) so I usually pay the standard price $ 40 + shipping (between 7~15 dollars) but from time to time I buy here at 70$ for those games I can't find cheaper online.

So my point was, I am used to pay more for a game, be it 40 or 70 dollars, so its not an issue for me.

That aside, the series is so great I wouldn't mind paying 90 dollars for it.

Nobody tends to release "premium" games here like you get more frequently in the US. But that could just be down to the fact that our games cost more even if you take VAT off the price. The only ones that tend to have a bit more charged for them are the Call of Duty games. For the most part, retailers refuse to go over the £40-45 mark for games even if the RRP is £55.

I'd be very surprised if the game received a premium price here, however the more likely aspect is that it'll be produced in much lower quantities and so won't get discounted the same. (it's not uncommon for games to have up to 50% reductions within a month of release).

Which is why I'm slightly jelly of the EU sometimes.

Unfortunately, if it's a game I want, it doesn't happen*

*until a day after I've bought it.

Curse that law of sod!

Initial thought: Must buy.
Second thought: Might wait to see if price drops a little.
