What a twisted point of view xD

full time student/research assistant/student intern/plus having to organize workshops and conferences that my organization partakes in..plus i work a part time job and as well as constantly helping my nieces with their school work..... and preparing for graduate school next year....pshhh i had a wii u since launch and only beat nsmbu single mode i got ng3,epic micky2, trine 2,mighty switch force...havent beaten any only one im close to being done with is mighty switch force...only reasons why im in no rush to get monster hunter or lego city
"Real Life" got horrible scores on MetaCritic so I decided it was best that I stay away from that game.
I love how there's no option for "employed but enjoy playing games in my spare time."
The idea that someone can only finish 1 game a year, especially in an industry where we're plagued by 6-8 hour story modes, is what I would find weird. O.o Unless of course you're like me and play mostly multiplayer games.

I am a busy professional who have enough money to afford every AAA title in every console if I wanted to, but do not have the time ! So for me it is irrelevant whether there are AAA titles every month. All I need is a quality game to keep me occupied once a while. I mean, I never finished a game apart from Advance Wars and a couple of Pokemon titles... |
So is this topic really about you or us? For example, I can point out how realz my life gets, but it would be the equivalent of patting myself on the shoulder and placing myself on a pedestal. I don't see the point of it because that's not why I am here. Sorry if I misunderstand something in your message, but what's the point of your question except that it poorly reflects your opinion of someone?...if you are just frustrated, then say so without making fun of others or putting others down. It would've been fine to be like... "hey, I don't have much time to play games, I can't complain about the same thing and you shouldn't either, so think about that and calm down." It would've been a good additional perspective.
I'm just glad we can all enjoy the same thing and we have something in common to talk about so... that's why I am here. I agree with what others have said here already about Wii U lack of games... I think it comes down to people are waiting for the titles they would like to play, which they bought the system hoping for... that would make their purchase worthwhile since they are paying the highest price for the console at launch. Of course, it could just simply be people are writing the only thing that comes to mind while we all eagerly wait for E3... a few people have left until E3 for that reason or just otherwise don't post/read as often.
I am tired of reading the same generic threads over and over. There's nothing really wrong sometimes about the posters or the topics, it's just I have been reading less and less because I have lost interest... I don't know what you read when you are here, but I don't really spend a lot of time reading the "annoying" threads... I think all things go in cycles so hopefully those of us who have patience will still be around when it turns back the opposite direction. It's gonna happen from time to time though... it's inevitable, but that is life.

Well, you bring up that you don't care if there are AAA titles every month, and I just want to address this. As someone who also can really only afford to beat one-two games a year, it is important for me that there are AAA titles every month, because my tastes differ from other people's tastes. If there is only one AAA title every 4-6 months, that's less and less chance that the game will appeal to me, meaning I could go years before seeing a AAA game I want. Also, I don't play games to beat them, I play them to play them. |
Exactly. Everyone's tastes are different, so not everyone will be playing the same games... we are all gamers, but we don't all like or play the same games.
Edit: Edited for clarity. I suck at writing. I fail.

I hope this whole post is a joke lol.
But if you're some how serious then I'm just confused. I hope this will help you in your endeavors.

Well reading all your replies was certainly interesting. I also apologise if I offended anyone in here. I was mostly curious to see what other people do gaming wise. I can mostly play 15 hours a month at most. I also have a mate who is into PC gaming and Xbox360 and mostly buys games just for the sake of it (hence some of the poll options).
I do enjoy gaming having first played PONG back in the coin-ops days and growing up with most of the Japanese coin-ops in the eighties.
Of course people have real lives. My mistake for confusing real with extremely busy...fail in syntax.
Keep on playing chaps !

Yeah I have a life. That being said, I can find the time to play more than one game every four months. /topic?

It's no big deal. Thanks for coming back and re-explaining...hopefully my comments did come off that bad or anything :/
I do design work and web development so I am always working on my portfolio, learning new stuff to expand my craft and my resume outside of actual jobs... other than that, I am either busy with family. Other than that, usually working on something, a project or some studies. I feel guilty when playing games sometimes but it really helps creatively to recharge my batts so it's not really a bad trade-off I think. That and it's one thing the husband and I have in common, so we can always talk about that outside of our jobs...
I haven't tried to measure how much time I spend in gaming. I think I spend a day here and there to play, but it's never really the full day. If I have a block, games usually do a lot to help get my juices get moving again.
I do indeed have a working life hence why my back catalog is somewhere between 100-300 games lol.
When I have kids I intend to play them at the time when I take time off work lol.
