Now why is this big news?  Technically it doesnt even look amazing unless I'm missing something here?  I mean Unreal Engine, Frostbite, and Cryengine all look better

I should hope so. Unity is primarily used for mobile games

So why does the title say this is big?  This is for every console and it is on mobile apparently, and it doesnt even look that great.

Ehhh, not important. Not sure if Pezus made this title or if it was the article but that was y question.

doesn't wii u support unity as well? anyway good news for you sony fans :P

because its an engine that powers a good number of games. this isnt big big, but its still important. now i could be wrong about this, but from what i remember that the engine is usually used by developers on a tight budget, devs who want to make the games cheaper and i heard its pretty easy to use. what i also understand is that its pretty popular in the mobile space. what this means is that indie devs who use this or mobile devs can bring there games to PS4, vita and PS mobile, when you look at the devs who use this its clear that this is pretty good news for both the vita and PS mobile. and if unity keeps growing it could become really important for PS4 as well

also yes it doesnt look all that great, this demo was released august last year. but the prupose of this demo (from what i can tell) is to show the fluidity of the animations and facial animations. as well as cloth simulations (which are pretty amazing if you ask me)

And you really think that small studios and indie developers have pockets deep enough to licence those engines?

yup. its also supports ps3, 360, linux, pc, mac OS, iOS, andriod, flash and web player. and now PS4, ps Vita and Ps mobile

THis is good news because this is an engine used by a lot of smaller and indie developers around the world. If I'm not mistaken this is relatively user friendly too
