because its an engine that powers a good number of games. this isnt big big, but its still important. now i could be wrong about this, but from what i remember that the engine is usually used by developers on a tight budget, devs who want to make the games cheaper and i heard its pretty easy to use. what i also understand is that its pretty popular in the mobile space. what this means is that indie devs who use this or mobile devs can bring there games to PS4, vita and PS mobile, when you look at the devs who use this its clear that this is pretty good news for both the vita and PS mobile. and if unity keeps growing it could become really important for PS4 as well
also yes it doesnt look all that great, this demo was released august last year. but the prupose of this demo (from what i can tell) is to show the fluidity of the animations and facial animations. as well as cloth simulations (which are pretty amazing if you ask me)
