U'r not supposed to pick the version with the highest score, you should pick the one with highest amount of reviews obviously.

True, I'll go back and edit it

That might also not work out. What if the game runs better on another console and thus has the best reviews? Like Bayonetta.

You should consider the one with the best reviews the "definitive version".

well he has a point with most games.  Like Tomb Raider for example. It has 25 reviews on PS3 but X360 has 65.   If there is a definitive better version like Need For Speed Most Wanted then ill use that one over the others

Tomb Raider deserves better than 86. It's one of the best games I've ever played, but it and Halo 4 look only average on Metacritic.

No, not as a general rule. Statistics don't work like that and we all know that the X360 version typically is the most representtive of what reviewers think about a game (the majority of sites post the 360 version of a game review). But, like you said, there are exceptions where a game has such flaws in one version that it affects the score (Bayonetta, Skyrim).

Both sadly are victims to bad reviewers, no game deserves a 20 unless its completely unplayable, IMO

Initial thought: Fire Emblem is already a shoe-in for handheld GOTY. I don't see any obvious 90+ handheld games coming out for either Vita or 3DS for the rest of the year, but there should be plenty of 80s handed out. A great year for handhelds overall, really.
Second thought: Which version of Runner 2 is at 91?

In that case it should go under multiplat.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
