Forums - Nintendo - Got a Wii U for my birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wishes =) Also for the recommendations. I'm definitely going to get MH3U, as I missed the Wii version. I've never played a MH game before, so this will be an intro to the series for me. NSMB I will check out too, I have to have enough games to play with the fiance' , since she bought the system =) We're eager for the new Mario Kart (which is part of why she came up of the idea for the present - we play a LOT of Mario Kart Wii!)

I'll have to check out Trine, I never heard of this game before. AC3 looked cool too, never played one of the AC games yet, but wanted to. BO2 will happen, as I dug MW:R on the Wii. THough I may be on the fence of getting the PC version instead of I gotta use thumb controls. MY PC is a beast =)

Happy Birthday :3 Nice present you had!

I'd recommend Monster Hunter and LEGO City, which come out this week (today and tomorrow).

There's official threads for these games floating about, so check 'em out or ask questions and I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is out for it tomorrow. :)

Cool thing about the WiiU version is you can use the Pro Controller, use the gamepad to always see your inventory, or play it completely on your gamepad (by far the coolest feature of the WiiU system, how I've been playing Assassin Creed 3).

I know a lot of people give the game crap for bad graphics, but I've been having fun watching the youTube walk throughs all day and they all have been enjoying it.

Great.

I agree with you, double sticks are dated, Wiimote is way more inmersive, challenging, and rewarding too, it gives FPS a new dimension.
Youre a lucky man, this and next month we are getting some pretty good games for the U.
LEGO City
NFS Most wanted
MH Ultimate

Obviously NSMBU is a must have for any gamer.

Black Ops 2 supports wiimote, yo!

The game does support wii remote. It is MUCH more accurate then dual analgues (you can actually tell who is using wii remote as their level of accuracy is much  higher lol). Only reason I been using dual analgue sticks is because my mate flew up to my state and we played local multiplayer. We didn't want split screen so I played on the game pad since I got used to the game already lol.

Congrats mate, Wii U is awesome. I recommened NSMBU, Trine 2, Tekken Tag 2 (the definitive version), Zen Pinball 2, Darksiders 2 (if cheap) and Arkham City (again if cheap). You also have Lego City releasing, Need for Speed and Monster Hunter.

See my game list from my sig. If its listed there I liked it (or my kids really wanted it).

Only game I would not re-buy would be skylanders at this point as that was purely for my kids and I think its dumb waste of money.

My favorites so far would be ZombiU, NSMBU, AC3, Trine2, and probably then NintendoLand for party play only.
