Forums - Nintendo - What's wrong with Nintendo UK's marketing?

I have just been to Birmingham's MCM Comic Con and although Nintendo had a 3DS XL stand with four upcoming games (including MH3) there was no sight of a WiiU. In the mean time EA had a booth with four games I couldn't care about but showing in a 60 inches or more Panasonic screen.

What is the marketing team (if there is one) thinking?

Nintendo's marketing have been pretty bad for a while. I thought that things would get better after the Joel Mchale commercial, but no :(

What UK marketing?

More seriously, they do make an effort with 3DS. I've seen an advert for some err... Style Boutique game? Something like that aimed at women. It's been on TV a fair amount lately.

I haven't seen anything Wii-U related since the holidays, when that ZombiU advert where they were "interviewing" people was on a lot. You'd think they'd be making the most of Lego City/Monster Hunter to advertise. Perhaps we'll see more towards the end of the month when the games are actually releasing (it's surprisingly still 12 days until Lego City releases over here, apparently).

I think at the moment the 3DS is Nintendos bread and butter, a bit like GBA during the GameCube days. I expect Wii U to get more advertising once Nintendo can figure out how to market it and what direction they want to take it.
