Looks pretty underwhelming in my opinion, like a high res PSP game. The Vita is capable of far more on paper.

have you played the game? the world is pretty big. and considering this is their first game on the vita its a pretty great accomplishment

This isn't that great of a game on Vita anyway. It could do far better. However I'm pretty sure developers will stop making Vita ports once the PS4 is out. Why bother?

what do you mean by it isnt that great of a game on vita?

The graphics. Compared to other ports even.

well the article pretty much says it all. the sacrificied the graphics in order to make the game run. the game is pretty much the same except for the graphics of course. the world is pretty big so its actually an accomplishment that they managed to pull this off with only sacrificing the games looks.

I'm in the boat that they could have pushed a lot more if they wanted to.

Actually, it isn't. We're talking about ARM CPUs and GPUs that have to run on batteries and generally consume less than 1W, something has to be sacrificed for the low energy consumption, and that's performance.

I haven't played it yet, apparently it's very good though. Still, those screenshots are meh.

its not that they didnt want to, its that they they didnt have the budget for the vita version to make it look better, they had to cut back on some stuff and it was mostly in the graphics department

As the article says, Uncharted had the benefit of being built around he system's strengths; Need for Speed, on the other hand, was built around the PS3/360 hardware.

You don't have to compromise performance for lower power consumption. On that basis, the Wii U should look like crap compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Maybe that Killzone Mercenary trailer has set my expectations too high, I don't know.

This picture is too small to see anything. Take that one, for example:

NFS MW will start looking much better.
