Forums - Microsoft - HELP: Xbox controller not connecting to my xbox.

I think the same think happened to the 360 controller that I'm using it only works when I plug in the play and charge cable to it. I hope you find some kind of a solution because Tales of Vesperia is a pretty good game.

Did you try holding down the wave line button on the consoles and the controller?

As I said in the OP, I already tried syncing my controller to the 360 =/.

Hmm maybe someone else can help or maybe a quick google search would benefit you more than creating a thread about it.

I did google search... And the only things that I found was "change the batteries" or "sync your controller". Trust me, I wouldn't waste my time creating this thread if the answer was on google...

I don't see any other info on what the problem could be so maybe you will have to just buy a new controller. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

The weird thing is that my controller still opens my xbox, so it can't be really broken because this would mean it wouldn't connect at all to the 360.

3DS: 60M

I took mine to a friends once, and it took me a bit to re-sync. I think you have to get the controller blinking before you hit the sync button on your 360. It had to be a specific order.

Also, I would check that the button is really pressing on your 360. Sometimes dust or something can block the connection.

Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful. I would try having a friend connect one of theirs to make sure it's syncing properly.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

My plan B will be to call microsoft if I can't figure it out and if they tell me to buy a new one, then il just borrow a controller from one of my buddys. Definetly not paying 40-60$ for a new controller just for one game but I will definetly be playing tales of vesperia :P.

If you have access to a second pad (a friends pad for instance) connect that and then try your problematic pad, this has usually worked for me in the past.

It is synced to my 360 because it can open my 360 when I press the middle button. Also, when I try to sync it, it seems to complete the sync but then my 360 controller just starts blinking again.

Is a pad a controller? If so, il try it with my friends controller :P.

Yes a pad is a controller, only it is three letters long and quicker to type :D

It does sound like your batteries are dead.  I know you said you tried new ones, but were they *fresh* ones?  I use the stay charge rechargeable and they do that when low.  (when you press the guide, it will show you how much power you have left.  I saw you say it would do that for a second.)
