So you're assuming that the Wii won't outsell the Gamecube? And that SMG won't continue to track above New Super Mario Brothers, which looks to be a 15+ million seller easily?
SMG is a game that will have legs as long as the Wii itself. And if the Wii sells strong for 6 years (which I'd expect), SMG will likely show its legs that long. I assure you that SMG will sell more than 4.1 million in the US. That's just silly!
If SMG averages 100k world wide per week in 2008, that means it would sell over 5 million during 2008. And averaging 100k/week almost looks like a foregone conclusion for a game of this quality.
One of the trump cards SMG has right now is that the Wii is still selling out. Therefore, some people who want SMG literally have to wait before they can buy SMG and a Wii -- this means the attach ratio per new console sold will be higher than it otherwise would.
