Let's wait for E3 man. We don't know what Sony has in store for the system, and if they have anything E3 will be the place to see. A price cut and compelling software can do wonders, not unlike the recent situation in Japan. As some suggested games like GTA can help propel sales, and while some may think R* may not want to fund such a game it is not beyond the realm of possibility for Sony to have a hand in the game's development to mitigate R*'s level of risk.

hey we finished playing the "lets wait for.." game already man.. stop it.

Why do you keep using the Dreamcast as the example when the Sega Saturn sold much worse than it in NA? Is it because it doesn't fit your sensationalist thread?

Never used Gamecube/GBA connectivity. I owned both consoles.

Never used PS3/PSP connectivity. I owned both consoles.

If sony thinks it can shift Vita on the back of PS4 its in for a shock. It is making the right noise about cross platform play with the likes of Sly Racoon (buy one get the other free) but i dont think its enough.

The pricecut will boost sales for a while as it always does. The Japanese market cant really be used as a conversion for success when transfered to the west because they love their handhelds. The price cut made it affordable in a recovering economy.

And if sony dont drop tbe price in the west soon they will find themselves in a position where people will save the bit extra to buy PS4 or NextBox. And if they drop the price too late it may go unnoticed in the next gen hype that will hit after summer.

It's weird how Sony fans used to say 'wait till its first x-mas in the West', and now somebody's saying 'wait till e3 before you judge Vita'.

Anyways, a price drop should ease the painfully low Vita sales, and couple that with some heavy hitting games and the conectivity with PS4 will surely push some sales.

hey you were the guy claiming all those things for sony at e3 this year right? for those of use that have a vita will we be seeing any games for it? As killzone may do very little to help now as killzone ps4 will run on vita which is going to be pretty mind blowing but hopefully less laggy than god and ico have been for me

Yes, I made some e3 predictions... But I haven't heard anything of up coming Vita games, except that you'll be able to stream PS4 to it with Gaikai.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Not right. Though if you consider having no chance of beating the 3DS "done for," then sure, but in that case it's been "done for" for a while now.

Question: do you guys think that the Vita would sell better if it was hacked?

price cut and localisations, sell it too the damn Japanese fans living in the west. sure it will never sell like 3DS but what can? no1 else has games like pokemon, mario and animal crossing

This. Especially the price cut on those damn memory cards!

They should have gone for standard micro-sd-cards - they are cheaper and faster. I still don't know why they went the proprietary way again...

It's already had one E3 and a christmas period. Not sure why e3 would matter, it already has great games, some of sony's best like uncharted on the system already.

Writing it off completly right now is foolish too. It could come back but the fact as op has said, it's selling below that of the Dreamcast. That statement alone indicates that it could be in Sony's best intrests to drop the console and cut their losses.

Yes, it worked wonders for the psp but hurt it software wise too. If I'm not mistaken the ps3 and 360 are yet to sell as many units as the PSP. The DS had similar problems too and well, we know how much that sold.... Not saying it was a major factor like it was for the PSP, but it surely helped.

pricecut + gta = :)

I doubt Rockstar will bother. The system has no userbase to sell to and with developers having to gear up for PS4/720, Vita is the last thing on their minds.

@bolded That's not true. AC and COD has sold relatively well with the current userbase, and that was with mediocre and shit reviews respectively. GTA would sell well among the current userbase, and more importantly it would sell a lot of systems, especially if it's a critical success.

@underlined I wouldn't be so sure... RS Leeds developed to 2 GTAs on PSP, they haven't done anything since 2009 (apart from LA noire PC port) and we know for a fact RS was working on Vita games. Seems like they might still be.
