Forums - Gaming - So, errr, Vita is basically done for in North America, right?

Really looking at the situation and seeing sub-Dreamcast monthly sales figures for this thing and Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed and Littlebigplanet and Uncharted already released ... is there really a lot more Sony can do?

Japan may yet be salvagable for Sony, but North America seems totally doomed. What is even coming out for the Vita for the rest of the year here?

Not many people are going to pay $200-$250 to use this thing as a PS4 controller either IMO. That whole dual screen console gaming concept is proving to be a dud with Wii U.

And no doubt now Sony is shifting their focus to the PS4. At least the PSP had a good couple of years here and had a fast start even with a $250 price point.

I doubt Rockstar will bother. The system has no userbase to sell to and with developers having to gear up for PS4/720, Vita is the last thing on their minds.

Not really, cant say never! Japan did good with a price cut and major quality games. NoA can too, but it'll remain like this this month unfortunately. Everybody predicts a price cut around E3. Wii U hasn't had a chance yet, so hold your horses . Wait intill software comes in

price cut and localisations, sell it too the damn Japanese fans living in the west. sure it will never sell like 3DS but what can? no1 else has games like pokemon, mario and animal crossing

A price cut and a few more tactical and turn-based RPGs would probably be enough for me to finally invest in one. It's a shame that Monster Hunter isn't coming out for it because those were probably some of my most heavily played PSP games (those, and Jeanne D'Arc, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Disgaea, Valkyria Chronicles II, Tactics Ogre, damn, I loved the PSP library). I do want to play the Persona 4 remake though (I haven't played that game since it first came out on the PS2 several years ago).

Nope and I hope they dont stop producing it for the US , it would hurt their image just like if they had discontinued any system.

I think many retailers are simply going to stop carrying it if its sales don't get better.

It's selling SUB-DREAMCAST, there's bad and then there's just gawd-awful and that's where the Vita is in North America.

Let's wait for E3 man. We don't know what Sony has in store for the system, and if they have anything E3 will be the place to see. A price cut and compelling software can do wonders, not unlike the recent situation in Japan. As some suggested games like GTA can help propel sales, and while some may think R* may not want to fund such a game it is not beyond the realm of possibility for Sony to have a hand in the game's development to mitigate R*'s level of risk.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

why do you have to compare the Wii U with the Vita? the same thing happens with the PS4, do you feel insecure about your system?
