So no innovative features like water-proofing, probably costs the same as an iPhone i.e 600 Euro off contract, and Xperia, HTC and Nokia provide more bang for your buck.

I'm not impressed at all. Looks like Samsung is going the apple route of providing incremental updates while keeping the design and feel the same. What we have here is a Galaxy S3s.

1mm Thinner, 1 gram lighter, more megapixulz...innowayshun!

Snapdragon 4 pro and not 600/800, same cheap and plasticky design as last year...i guess they figure they made it and they can ride their success to the bank.

Someone's not a fan lol.

I really couldnt care any less to be honest. We gave an S3 at work and im sure they will bring this one as well. We have to make sure our Android app works on the latest samsung after all.

What bugs me is that HTC One is just so much better in every way. Better design, better specs, better software, better camera. But my work will not order that phone...Doubt the guys at work even know it exists and even if they do, they figure no one will buy it.

I understand why you don't like Samsung phones, I'm not a big fan either, but that completely false. A tech guy like you, you should have known better.

No it isn't false. How is it false?

Snapdragon 600 in HTC One is 40% faster than Sanpdragon S4 Pro in Galaxy S4

Camera on HTC One is being praised as the best cell phone camera on the market right now (other than Pureview 808) with amazing low light performance. This has to do with the face HTC isn't just throwing Megapixels at the sensor but is making them larger so they can take in more detail and light. Low light performance on HTC One is amazing.

Software is another no contest. Have you every used TouchWiz on Samsung phones? It just sucks. Sense on HTC Phones sucks less and is closer to Androids true flavour... All these bullshit features samsung gets people to line up for are nothing but gimmicks. I know quite a few people that use the S3 and they all tell me that first thing they do is disable them because they drain the battery much faster and are essentially useless.

My S2 is the best smartphone I have had. I had a first gen Iphone and got sick of the same design and having to jailbreak it to customize anything.

I than moved to Android and got an HTC Evo which was a complete peice of junk terrible GPS my weather and time were always messed up, it was one of the first 4g phones here in the states and had a like 2 hour battery life with 4g turned on. The touch screen got messed up and sections of the screen were dead in a year. HTC phones feel great and sense is the best looking android skin but I will never buy another HTC phone.

My S2 has a great battery still works just as good as the day I bought it. I do not like touchwiz but no big deal as I can change my lockscreen and run a different launcher because Android allows so much customization. I will be upgrading to the S4 it is the best android phone no doubt.

HTC phone from 3 years ago is not the HTC phone being made today. HTC One X last year pretty much gave samsung S3 a run for it's money. And this year it looks like its a better choice.

I find it interesting that you cite the lack of a Snapdragon 600, when pretty much the only noticeable differences between the two is 1.9 vs 1.7 GHz clock speed and the ddr2 vs ddr3 (I think). Same cache, same gpu, same instruction set. It becomes even more ironic when the Snapdragon S4 Pro in the S4 will have...wala...1.9 GHz and ddr3. Either they did some slight beefing up of the Snapdragon S4 Pro, or (despite the things indicating otherwise), this thing actually has a 600 in it.

The 800 is a whole different story, but I don't think anybody in any way whatsoever expected the 800 in the S4. I'm sure cost is significantly higher, not to mention it isn't even available yet, which would have delayed the launch of the S4 by several months.

If you don't want a cheap plasticky design, then go buy a DNA, it's a solid phone.

From anandtech - http://www.anandtech.com/print/6754

" This is quad core Krait 300 (as opposed to 200 in MSM8960 or APQ8064) which brings a 15 percent increase in IPC as well as higher clocks (from 1.5 to 1.7 GHz), for about 20–30 percent higher overall CPU performance."

APQ8064 is S4 Pro.

The difference isn't huge (10-15% manye) but it's important to note that HTC One is getting 12000+ on quadrant while Galaxy S4 is going to get ~8000 if it's in line with current S4 Pro scores.

You do realize that this (supposed) S4 Pro has 1.9 GHz instead of the max clock on any other S4 Pro of 1.7 GHz, as well as DDR3 memory instead of the DDR2, right? Because those are the major differences between the S4 Pro and the 600. The only other difference (which based on how different this processor already is from the S4 Pro, we aren't really sure if this is still the case) is the increased inter-process communication in the 600.

I don't know what to do... I like both, the Xperia and Galaxy, and I know Galaxy is a little ahead in specs but I find the looks of the Xperia much more beautiful and that waterproof feature....

The other irony is the HTC One has a Snapdragon 600, which can be clocked up to 1.9GHz, yet it is only clocked at...1.7GHz
