Do I consider single console owners core gamers?

Hell yeah, why not. If a single console owner purposely wants to miss out on some awesome games that the others clearly have to offer AND can actually afford to buy another console(s) then power to that person.

Seriously though, sucks that people that play video games are still segregated into these stupid little groups. Core, HARDcore, casual.....why can't we all just be called gamers.

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Good question. I own multiple game consoles but I never consider myself a core gamer. Im a hybrid casual gamer.

By the way, that poll is completely pointless. Some of the choices doesn't even make sense.

I don't play on PC but I play Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft so I consider myself a core gamer.

If you buy lots of games. Sure.

If you pirate most of your games, you're not core. Core implies being part of the centre, driving the industry (as sales of new games funds development of more new games - hence why companies direct the bulk of early marketing towards "the core"). If you buy used games almost exclusively - you're out there on the crust. If you pirate almost exclusively - you're a festering boil on the crust - and are contributing NOTHING to the industry.

Regardless of what, or how many systems you own.

The question should be more like: "Do people that consider playing only on one brand should be considered core gamers?"

... There is no straight out Yes answer therefore i cannot answer

It depends on the games not the console(s).

single system per gen?

I've owned many consoles/handhelds in my lifetime. Mostly Nintendo though with the exception of Genesis (broke) and GameGear (sold). Then adapted PC gaming for third party favorites.

A "core" gamer should be someone that enjoys games and invests money/time/effort to play their desired titles no matter what console they own or what company they prefer.

Per Gen.

Okay, so is someone who buy 1 video game a year, but puts a lot of thought into which game they want to get, and maybe plays 5 hours a month, a core gamer?

P.S. I knew "Yes, with a PS3 specifically" would be a popular answer. Too many fanboys here
